Two of London’s most distinctive casino dining venues could walk away with top honours at the 2025 European Casino Awards.
Two standout restaurants housed within the Hippodrome Casino have been shortlisted for Best Casino Restaurant at the 2025 European Casino Awards, underscoring the growing prestige of casino dining in the heart of the West End.
Heliot Steak House, long a fixture in London’s nightlife, and Chop Chop by Four Seasons, a newer pan-Asian concept launched in 2023, are both among the finalists announced this month by Casino International.
The nomination is seen as recognition for a team that has redefined what it means to dine at a casino. Executive chef Ioannis Grammenos, who leads the Heliot kitchen, has played a key role in elevating the venue’s culinary reputation. At the same time, Chop Chop’s front-of-house and support staff have brought the buzz of Soho dining into a gaming environment.
Executive Chairman Simon Thomas said: “From executive chef Ioannis Grammenos and the Heliot kitchen to the Chop Chop front-of-house and every member of staff who supports them, they have redefined what casino dining can be.”
The European Casino Awards honor excellence across the gaming sector, but the Best Casino Restaurant category has become increasingly competitive as casinos invest in fine dining experiences to attract broader audiences.
Voting for the awards is now open to the public, and Hippodrome management is encouraging customers and fans to support the restaurants online.
“It’s a huge credit to our brilliant teams who make the Hippodrome one of the great dining destinations in the West End,” the casino said in a statement."
The 2025 awards ceremony will be held on 4 February at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London. Finalists were selected by a panel of industry experts, with public voting factored into the final decision.
As more land-based casinos shift toward multi-experience venues that combine gambling, entertainment and hospitality, the recognition of restaurant excellence becomes a crucial benchmark. The Hippodrome’s double nomination highlights a trend where food and drink are no longer just add-ons but integral to the casino experience, especially in urban gaming hubs like London.
Voting remains open through the official European Casino Awards voting page, with the public encouraged to back their favorites in each category.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
