A number of redundancies have been made at one of the Isle of Man’s largest gaming and software firms, Games Global.

The company, headquartered on Circular Road in Douglas, employs a large local workforce and supplies casino technology and content to hundreds of online casino brands worldwide. It’s understood that several employees, including members of the management team, have been affected by recent cuts.

Games Global has not yet issued an official statement regarding the redundancies. However, the island’s Department for Enterprise confirmed that positions were displaced at the company’s Isle of Man offices following what it described as a global operational review.

The firm, which acquired Microgaming’s distribution business in 2022, has grown into a major player in casino software supply. Its portfolio includes thousands of slot titles and partnerships with some of the biggest names in online gaming.

Posts shared by staff on LinkedIn suggest the impact of the restructuring is being felt across different departments. One long-serving employee wrote that after 28 years, they had

“Finally got marching orders yesterday with many others.”

Another described redundancy as “a reboot,” while a departing manager called the past four years with Games Global “amazing.”

Despite the job losses, Games Global continues to operate globally, supporting hundreds of partner casinos through its digital content and platform services.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
