Broadway Gaming, the online bingo and casino operator behind brands such as Wink Bingo and 888Ladies, has appointed Mark Cleary as its new chief executive officer.
Cleary, who has served as the company’s chief operating officer since February 2018, succeeds David Butler. Butler, who has led the company’s expansion in recent years, will move into the role of executive chairman, continuing to guide Broadway Gaming’s strategic vision and future partnerships.
The operator described the leadership change as a milestone in its growth strategy, signalling a new chapter for the business as it continues to strengthen its position in the UK and Irish markets.
“Mark is a deeply respected leader who has helped shape the success of Broadway Gaming,” Butler said.
“This transition has been carefully planned, and I have full confidence in his ability to lead the company forward. As executive chairman, I’ll continue to be actively involved in driving our long-term vision, partnerships and potential mergers and acquisitions.”
Cleary, who has more than two decades of experience in iGaming operations and leadership, said he was proud to take the helm at a pivotal time for the company.
“I’m honoured to take on the CEO role and lead an exceptional team,” Cleary said.
“Broadway Gaming has an exciting future ahead, and I’m committed to building on the strong foundations that David has laid to deliver even greater value for our players, partners, and people.”
Founded in 2010, Broadway Gaming operates more than 30 online bingo and casino sites across the United Kingdom and Ireland. Its portfolio includes well-known brands such as Wink Bingo, 888Ladies, Butlers Bingo, and Costa Games. The company is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority.
The leadership transition comes amid a competitive period in the online gaming sector, where consolidation and strategic acquisitions continue to reshape the market. Cleary’s appointment underscores Broadway Gaming’s focus on operational excellence and sustained growth across its multi-brand platform.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
