Choosing the best casinos in Las Vegas is like choosing your favourite child, or pet, or chocolate bar. It’s virtually impossible. They’re all great in their own special way, how can you possibly pick?
Latest figures show there are more than 400 casinos in Nevada with 63 of them in Las Vegas alone.
It is also quite difficult to set the criteria for ‘best’ in this scenario. I could base it on facts such as size and number of games or be more subjective in terms of where I enjoy gambling the most or where I’ve had my biggest wins.
I’ve decided therefore, to use a combination of these factors, and not list them in any particular order! With that in mind, here are my best casino resorts in Las Vegas.
Smallish 50k sq ft floor but huge on personality: 1,000 or so slots, 60 tables, sportsbook, and a high-limit lounge. Inside feels like mini-Manhattan (Times Square, loft facades) and rooms echo the theme with brick accents. Nightlife spans duelling pianos at The Bar at Times Square, DJs at Center Bar, bands on the Brooklyn Bridge, and Coyote Ugly upstairs. Tons of eats from Gallagher’s to Greenberg’s Deli - and yes, the Big Apple Coaster and arcade keep it buzzing 24/7.
Chic, vertical resort smack in the Strip’s center with a stylish 100k sq ft casino, about 1,300 slots, 80+ tables, big sportsbook, and two high-limit rooms. Nearly all 3,000+ rooms have balconies with knockout views. Pools split into lively (Boulevard) and chill (Chelsea). Don’t miss the three-story Chandelier Bar, hidden speakeasies, Marquee Day/Nightclub, and a standout dining lineup (Wicked Spoon, Beauty & Essex, Eggslut, Block 16). Fresh, youthful energy throughout.

An icon with 156k sq ft of gaming, 2,300 slots, 150+ tables, poker and baccarat rooms, and a sportsbook. Elegance everywhere - from the Fiori di Como in the lobby to the seasonal Conservatory - and five Italian-courtyard pools. Fountain shows run day and night; “O” by Cirque, Gallery of Fine Art, and high-end dining (Spago, Prime, Picasso, Le Cirque) round it out. Classic Vegas service and scale.

Tropical, spacious 135k sq ft floor (well-spaced 1,200 slots, 120+ tables, poker, sportsbook) at the Strip’s south end. Rooms are large and beach-hut luxe; the 11-acre Mandalay Bay Beach - wave pool, lazy river, real sand - is a headliner. Add Shark Reef, Michael Jackson ONE, arena events, and walkways to Luxor’s bars. Plenty of dining from Foundation Room views to StripSteak and casual options. Relaxed, polished vibe.

Opened Dec 2023 on the north Strip, blending classic Vegas glam with modern design. A massive 173k sq ft casino hosts 1,300 slots, 128 tables, an 18k sq ft high-limit area, and a sleek 14k sq ft sportsbook. Striking art moments (that kinetic mirror “wave”) and an architectural Center Bar set the tone. Food lovers are spoiled across 30+ venues (e.g., Mother Wolf). A sharp, much-needed spark for the north end.
Roman-themed legend with 124k sq ft of gaming, 1,300 slots, a market-leading 180 table games, poker, sportsbook, and loads of bar-tops. The sprawling footprint can be a maze, but rewards with Garden of the Gods pools, the Colosseum (A-list residencies), and Absinthe. Dining is vast (Bacchanal Buffet, Nobu, Guy Savoy, Hell’s Kitchen, more) and nightlife peaks at OMNIA and Vanderpump. Still, after all these years, it's quintessential Vegas.

Refined, immaculate 110k sq ft floor with 1,000+ slots, 140 tables, poker, and a renovated sportsbook; Encore adds its own 72k sq ft casino next door. Rooms are luxe and large; pools, five-star spa, and top-tier service define the experience. Expect polished dining (Wynn Buffet, Mizumi, Wing Lei), the Awakening show, and Lake of Dreams vistas from bars and steakhouses. Upscale through and through.

Sleek, art-forward resort in CityCenter with a huge 150k sq ft floor, 1,900 slots, 140 tables, poker, sportsbook, and two high-limit rooms. Tech-forward rooms (tablet controls, auto-drapes) and three pools; no resident show, but prime central location. Strong food lineup (Jean-Georges, Carbone, Din Tai Fung, Proper Eats food hall) and JEWEL nightclub. Dark, clubby casino feel that some love; great game variety.

Modernizes Fremont with a two-level ~50k sq ft floor, 1,100–1,350 slots, 55 tables, and a jaw-dropping, three-story sportsbook wall. Stadium Swim’s 143-foot screen turns pool time into a sports spectacle; rooms are sleek, and Vegas Vickie neon anchors the casino. Casual dining (Barry’s upscale steak offset by Saginaw’s, Victory Burger, 8East) and lively bars (Mega-Bar, Overhang, Legacy rooftop). A bold, contemporary downtown flagship.
