The Most Popular Online Slots in Alberta's New iGaming Market

Ever wondered what your neighbours get up to behind closed doors?

Well, if they live in Alberta and play online slots, now you know.

Just over one month after Alberta launched its legal iGaming market, bet365 has published which slot games are proving the most popular in the province so far.

Included as part of bet365 casino's monthly Gaming Insights and Performance report, the operator tracks more than 7,500 slot games across roughly 20 regulated markets worldwide, with titles ranked on a formula based on revenue, stakes, sessions and player engagement.

Only slots are measured for the report, so table games and live dealer games aren't included.

Rankings are always contrasted with the previous month's report to help identify trends and popular new releases, though as Alberta only opened last month, every single game on the province's chart landed there as a new entry.

So, which slot games have proved the most popular at bet365 Alberta so far?

Alberta's Early Favourites

IGT's Cleopatra Keno took the top spot, ahead of SpinPlay's Amazing Link Zeus in second and Games Global's Eruption Blaze Cashingo in third.

The top 10 sees a mix of established slot titles like Gates of Olympus sitting alongside keno and jackpot-style games, suggesting Alberta players are initially spreading their action across different slot types rather than settling on one format early on.

bet365 itself cautioned that with every game landing as a new entry, it is too soon to call any lasting trends, though the early rankings point to a broad casino audience rather than one clustered around a single game type.

bet365 also revealed that since the operator entered Alberta on July 13, local bettors have claimed more than 1,000 Jackpot365 wins, with bet365 paying out $462,000 through the product since then.

Ontario Keeps Its Favourites, With a Few New Faces

Looking at Ontario, a province now in its fifth year of regulation, July's numbers show a mix of stability at the top and more movement underneath it.

Games Global's Area Link Phoenix Firestorm held onto first place for another month, but the games chasing it saw some dramatic swings.

Pragmatic Play's Sugar Rush Super Scatter jumped 27 spots to land in second, while AGS's Capital Gains climbed an even bigger 30 spots into third.

Two brand-new arrivals also broke into the top 10 in their first month in the Ontario online casino market: Light & Wonder's Quick Hit Link - Fire came in at fifth, and Blueprint Gaming's Majestic Fury Win Stepper landed just behind it in sixth.

Pragmatic Play Leads the Way in the Rest of Canada

Beyond Alberta and Ontario, bet365 also operates across the rest of Canada, and its July report for that segment shows Pragmatic Play with the strongest showing of any single supplier, claiming three spots in the top 10.

Pragmatic Play's Gates of Olympus Super Scatter, Gates of Olympus 1000 and Sweet Bonanza 1000 all made the cut, landing at fifth, seventh and tenth respectively.

As in Ontario, Area Link Phoenix Firestorm held the top spot for a second straight month, and just like in Alberta, Amazing Link Zeus turned up in second place.

One Brand, Three Provincial Doors

bet365 is available across Canada, albeit via three different portals.

Players in Alberta can access the bet365 Alberta site, after the operator launched in Canada's second regulated province earlier this month.

Players in Ontario, which became the first Canadian province to launch a regulated iGaming market back in April 2022, play at bet365 Ontario.

While gamblers in the rest of Canada have access to its international site bet365 Canada, which operates within the grey market.
