Gates of Olympus 1000 is a Pragmatic Play slot and an upgrade on one of the most legendary slots of all time. The original Gates of Olympus is still one of the most popular games at top casinos online. Even if you’re not a fan of Greek mythology slots, there are plenty of reasons to love it. As I learned during my Gates of Olympus 1000 review, the updated version has a few slight but very important improvements.
Similar to the iconic Gates of Olympus 1000, this one uses the Pay Anywhere system. It’s a highly volatile slot with an RTP figure of 96.50%. Zeus is still the poster boy for this game. The volatility and RTP are up from the first slot, and the maximum winning potential is tripled. Instead of a sequel, the studio decided to come up with an update, and I have to say I like what it did with it.
Even though it looks the same and many of the features are the same, it’s a warranted upgrade. Read my Gates of Olympus 1000 review to learn why.

Gates of Olympus 1000 keeps the familiar style of the original slot, but with sleeker graphics and symbols. The 6x5 grid features gems as low-paying symbols and items like the crown, sandglass, ring, and cup as high-paying ones. The theme centers on Zeus and Mt. Olympus, with controls placed beneath the reels in Pragmatic Play’s usual layout.
Bets range from $0.20 to $100 per spin ($125 with Ante Bet). Wins occur with eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid, with the top payout of 50x for 12+ crowns. Each win triggers a tumble, and random multiplier symbols (x2–x1,000) can significantly boost payouts, especially in the free spins round. With 96.50% RTP and a max win of 15,000x, the slot blends high volatility with rewarding features.
As soon as you see four or more scatters on the reels, you’ll receive 15 scatters. The good news is that you can prolong your life in the free spins round with three extra scatters, which provide five extra spins. In terms of gameplay, there are not a lot of changes in the bonus round. It’s all more of the same but with one huge difference.
All the multipliers that land are now collected when they’re part of a win. The total multiplier keeps building during the free spins round with each tumble and win, nicely boosting the overall winning potential.
Many players — including me — have been hoping for a full-blown Gates of Olympus sequel. We still haven’t gotten it, but this one works pretty well if you ask me. It’s a nice upgrade with wilder features and winning potential, so you’re in for a truly wild and potentially lucrative ride at top slot sites.
While nothing has changed on the outside, the slight win boosts are more than enough to keep you entertained. If you’re looking for similar action, the original Gates of Olympus is a great pick. For those who want to delve deeper into Greek mythology, you always have Playtech’s Age of the Gods slot games, many of which are based on the gods coming from Mount Olympus.
