It’s been one month since Pragmatic Play released Gates of Olympus POP, just one of the revamps of the past few revamps released by them into the casinos. I’m back for yet another review that takes us all into the world of Greek Mythology. All the classic signs of a Pragmatic Play revamp are here, my people. The same look, the same sounds, and even those same odd smells. Well, only one other thing to check: the gameplay. With my bet set to $2 per spin, I begin to… engage. Oh, Baby.

Gates of Olympus 2500 comes with a Scatter Pays win mechanism, and from the first ten spins, the hit rate was consistent with the game’s high volatility setting. The first win came on spin 6, worth $0.50. Wins trigger a Tumble mechanism, bringing new symbols into the game and potentially triggering more wins. This happened on spin nine, when one win led to a total of three consecutive wins. The result: a $2.30 win.

Into the next ten spins, I raised the bet to $3 a spin. Two spins in and a win of $1.95. The sixth spin resulted in a $0.75 win, and these amounts are not good for making any form of gain. Sadly, this was the only action of ten spins played at $3 a go. Now, given the lack of entertainment, the low hit rate, and the resounding compulsion to jump off the edge of a cliff, I decided to play ten more spins, this time at $4 a go.

Well, four spins later, I won $3.20, and this was dwarfed five spins later, as I won $9.60 from three consecutive Tumbles. The final spin of this round and of my Gates of Olympus 2500 experience resulted in a $5.60 win. Sadly, that all-too-familiar feeling of disappointment taps me on the shoulder to say, “I told you so.” Gates of Olympus 2500 maintains the series' lack of creativity and dynamic gameplay, all for the sake of achieving a 2,500x multiplier.
