A late-night brawl at a Glasgow casino left one woman injured and three others facing assault charges after police were called to the Grosvenor Casinos branch in Merchant City in the early hours of Sunday.
Officers were alerted after an alleged assault on a 37-year-old woman at the Glassford Street venue. According to eyewitnesses, the altercation escalated quickly, with several people reportedly involved. Footage circulating online appears to show glasses being thrown during the scuffle as bystanders watched the chaos unfold.
“Three women, aged 27, 39 and 41, were arrested and charged in connection with an alleged assault on a 37-year-old woman,” a Police Scotland spokesperson said.
“They were all due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court”
The women were taken into custody shortly after officers arrived on the scene. Punters were seen waiting outside the casino as police investigated the disturbance.
Grosvenor Casinos confirmed it is cooperating fully with the police. A spokesperson for the venue said the safety of guests and staff is a top priority.
“We are working closely with Police Scotland as they investigate this incident,” the spokesperson said.
“We take the safety of our customers and team members very seriously.”
The Merchant City location, one of Glasgow’s best-known late-night gaming spots, is open 24 hours on weekends and attracts a mix of regulars and visitors. The alleged fight occurred during peak weekend hours when the venue was reportedly busy.
Police have not released further details about the condition of the 37-year-old victim, and inquiries remain ongoing.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
