Alea's roots stretch back to London Clubs International, itself originally carved out of the casino division of conglomerate Grand Metropolitan. The business passed through several major owners before landing with Metropolitan Gaming, an affiliate of Silver Point Capital, in 2021. Metropolitan Gaming's wider UK portfolio includes some of the country's most iconic venues, including London's Empire Casino. But it's the Alea brand that carries the flag outside London. Think large-format, Vegas-influenced venues built around gaming, dining, and events. Alea operates one venue in Glasgow, but you sure won't miss it.

Grosvenor Casinos was established in 1970 and holds the position of the UK's largest multi-channel casino brand. At its locations it generally offers a range of casino table games including roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker, as well as electronic roulette and gaming machines alongside bars, restaurants, and broader entertainment experiences. This is arguably the most recognisable casino name on the British high street, and Glasgow is one of the few cities in the UK where you'll find two of their venues operating side by side - though not literally.

You're right in the heart of Glasgow here, for sure. The Argyle Street train station is two minutes away, and the surrounding Merchant City neighbourhood is one of the best areas in the city for a night out.

It's also Glasgow's biggest casino by floor space. And it really shows. The two-level venue houses around 50 multi-denomination gaming machines across both floors, 12 live table games featuring blackjack, roulette, and three card poker, and a dedicated poker room with eight more tables.. Part of the Metropolitan Gaming group, it sits within the Springfield Quay leisure complex alongside an Odeon cinema and Hollywood Bowl, making it an obvious choice for a full-blown evening out. The Vegas-inspired design makes an immediate impression. Believe me, this is a venue that takes its atmosphere seriously.

On the gaming front, you'll find a wide range of table games including blackjack, roulette, and three card poker, alongside 50 slots and electronic roulette machines. The headline draw for serious players is the poker lounge. it's easily of Scotland's largest, with regular tournaments and cash games running throughout the week, plus some of the highest table limits in Scotland.
