Local Casinos Found in Newcastle

Newcastle is a wonderful city to visit and one known for rich history, modern architecture, unique inhabitants - and very good casinos.

Okay, so it may not exactly be known for its casinos, but they are very good and well worth a visit. We can help you make plans.

Newcastle Land Based Casino Operators

Newcastle is a vibrant city so it will surprise no one to learn that it has attracted some major players in the gambling industry, including:

  • Grosvenor: If you only know one casino operator in the UK, then changes are it's Grosvenor. They have locations all over the country and several in the Newcastle area.
  • Genting: A gaming giant from Asia who even have a casino mega-resort on the Las Vegas Strip.
  • Aspers: A growing casino chain in the UK who operate an impressive venue in Newcastle.

Newcastle Casinos

Newcastle has a perhaps surprisingly good choice of casinos and something to suit all tastes, one suspects.

They include:

  • Genting Casino Newcastle - A fabulous casino venue with a great variety of games.
  • Grosvenor Casino Newcastle - A touch dated, and not as huge as you might expect. Has more of a locals’ casino than a tourists’ one, which is far from a bad thing. Good value on food and drinks, and the staff are very friendly.
  • Aspers Casino Newcastle - found on Newgate Street, on the first floor of a centre known as The Gate, this well-kept casino has a good game variety.

More Than Gambling

Newcastle and the northeast of England in general is one of the true hidden gems of the Bristish Isles. Locals like to keep it that way so they can mostly have it all to themselves, but I'm sure they won't mind me singing some praises here:

  • Amazing coastline: Newcastle's own coastline is nice enough, but it's also sandwiched between the wonderful shores of Northumberland to the north and Sunderland to the south.
  • Vibrant nightlife: Without doubt, Newcastle is one of the most happening nightlife cities in all of the UK. The Bigg Market and its nightclubs are infamous for a raw party atmospshere and the Quayside area under the Tyne's iconic bridges provide a more elegant experience.
  • Surrounding area: Newcastle has Sunderland and Durham to the south and Northumberland to the north, so it is at the heart of some of the most green and pleasant lands England has to offer.
  • Football daft: The whole of the north east is football daft and boast two enormous clubs in Sunderland and Newcastle - and a rivalry worthy of them.

Important Considerations

You need to be aged 18 or older to legally gamble in England. However, some establishments may have their own admission rules so be sure to check before you travel.
