It really is all over now and the curtain has come down on ICE Barcelona 2026. The event was a staple in the calendar in London but moved to Barcelona this year reshaping its scope and scale. Was it Bigger and Better?

All we know is that the event drew tens of thousands of delegates from the iGaming and gambling industry through the doors daily for networking, tech showcases and strategic insight sessions. The massive floor space included the vast array of companies involved in an industry providing important jobs and revenue for economies across the globe. There was a fair share of representatives from the land based and online casino industry present as exhibitors and visitors.

Final Day: Celebrations, Esports and Global Networking

The final day of ICE kept the show floor bustling, even as the week’s official programming wound toward a close. Networking remained a core focus, both in scheduled sessions and informal hallway meet-ups.

One standout attraction throughout the three days was the ICE Esports Arena, where crowds watched live “Beat the Pro” challenges and engaged with competitive gaming demonstrations, underscoring esports’ growing role within the wider gaming ecosystem. Attendees also gathered at Casa Brasil, a festive space that became a hub for industry socialising and celebration on the final afternoon.

Beyond casual meet ups, organised side events such as the Sporting Tech happy hour and the uPlatform hosted ICE Barcelona Beer Festival provided additional opportunities to build connections in relaxed settings.

Learning and Industry Responsibility on Display

Even with a festival atmosphere in parts of the venue, the education programme remained robust through the last day. Sessions ranged from cybercrime and fraud prevention to market entry strategies across emerging jurisdictions.

A highlight was the GGW (Global Gaming Women) brunch meetup, which brought together industry leaders and served as the capstone event in ICE’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) programming. Meanwhile, the Sustainably Gambling Zone continued its agenda, offering actionable insights into responsible protocols and operator best practices, a theme organisers have emphasised in recent years. GGW is no stranger to casinos.com as we have attended GGW events and interviewed some remarkable women within the industry.

LatAm Focus and Strategic Market Insight

Education and business development also took centre stage at the Academia América Latina session on the Enterprise Stage, where speakers explored player trends and investment dynamics across Latin America, one of the fastest growing regions in global gaming.

Panels and talks offered operators guidance on navigating regulatory frameworks and leveraging regional opportunities, underscoring the event’s role as a platform for strategic expansion.

Looking Ahead: What ICE Barcelona Signals for the Industry

As ICE Barcelona 2026 closed, organisers and participants were already looking forward to what’s next. The event reaffirmed its reputation as a cornerstone of the international gaming calendar by weaving together cutting edge tech, regulatory discourse and networking.

Across the halls and stages, the message was clear: the gaming sector is moving toward a more connected, immersive and inclusive future, with innovation and industry leadership shaping what’s on the horizon in 2026 and beyond.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
