For a quarter century, the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) has stood at the centre of a rapidly changing industry. From the legalisation of sports betting to the rise of AI and online casinos, G2E has evolved into a global platform that reflects the pulse of gaming worldwide from London to Las Vegas.
At the heart of that growth is Korbi Carrison, vice president of G2E, who has spent more than 30 years in Las Vegas helping shape the event into a global institution.
Casinos.com spoke with Carrison about 25 years of gaming evolution, innovation, and the human side of the casino industry.
“I moved to Las Vegas over 30 years ago and fell into the gaming industry,” Carrison said.
“I worked for several different slot machine manufacturers and technology providers. The experience that I gained there really led me into leading the G2E show.”
G2E celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, marking a major milestone for an event that now attracts attendees from more than 120 countries.

“Behind all of the evolution is innovation,” Carrison said.
“Every year we see products and services that really innovate the industry and take things to the next level.”
One defining moment, she said, came with the 2018 overturning of PASPA, which legalized sports betting in the U.S. “That was a point that changed how the industry innovated and regulated,” Carrison said.
“It also changed how the industry worked together to create the next chapter in gaming.”

This year’s show also introduced the G2E Dealer Championship, a new contest highlighting the skill and personality of casino dealers. “We wanted to do something that celebrated the talent of gaming professionals,” Carrison said.
“We had 34 dealers from across the United States, and it was a huge success.”

The American and British gaming industries are often seen as opposites, the U.S. steeped in land-based casinos and the U.K. driven by online betting. Carrison said G2E thrives on these contrasts.

“There’s a lot to be said for collaboration in the space,” she said.
“Going in either direction isn’t a copy and paste situation. Diversity is power in the industry.”
Responsible gaming, she added, is a shared priority across markets. “There may be similar or different approaches, but it’s critical to both. It’s about learning from one another to keep this pastime safe for all participants.”
AI dominated G2E 2025’s agenda, but Carrison believes technology must enhance, not replace, human connection.
“It’s apparent when AI is used, and it’s apparent when the human touch isn’t there,” she said.

That belief inspired the dealer championship, which she described as “a celebration of the personalities that keep patrons coming back to the casino day after day, year after year.”
Carrison credited the idea to the European Casino Association’s annual championship. “It brings people together and celebrates the skill of talented people across the industry,” she said. “We wanted to bring that spirit to G2E.”

The reimagined iGaming Zone showcased how digital transformation is reshaping the casino landscape.
“When we craft G2E, we go to the market and ask, ‘What’s happening? What do you want to see?’” Carrison said.
“There’s no question digital innovation is shaping the future. You’ll see that reflected in the expo hall and the conversations happening there.”
Carrison expects online gaming and technology integration to grow at next year’s event.
“As we plan for 2026, expect to see collaboration, future-focused topics, and continued celebration of dealer talent,” she said.
While Las Vegas remains G2E’s home base, the brand’s global reach continues through G2E Asia, held annually in Macau and the Philippines.
“There could be further geo expansion in the future,” Carrison said. “But our goal remains to serve the global industry.”
For those who haven’t yet attended, Carrison has a clear message:

“We have something at G2E that no other event can offer, the full gaming ecosystem under one roof, and in Las Vegas. It’s something that just can’t be replicated anywhere else.”

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
