At the 2025 iGB L!VE event in London, Fun Fiesta’s Business Development Manager, David Marks, introduced the company’s latest venture into the European market: a fish shooting game designed to offer players a more interactive experience compared to traditional slots. It's already a big hit in Italy so we gave the 'shoot em up' game a go at the Fun Fiesta stand before speaking to David.

A New Spin on Slot Gaming

Fun Fiesta’s new game merges the mechanics of slot gaming with real-time shooting elements. Players aim and shoot at various targets, with each shot representing a stake. Successful hits yield prizes, and the game allows multiple players to engage simultaneously, competing for larger rewards.

“It’s a new fish shooting game, which is new to the European market. It’s listed as a slot game,” Marks told casinos.com.

“The mathematics are the same, but it’s a pretty instant shooting game. So every shot costs you something. Then once you pop, for example, a fish, you win the prize.”

The game’s design is entirely developed in-house by Fun Fiesta’s team, ensuring a unique and cohesive gaming experience. “We have our own team. We don’t outsource anything. So we create new games every other month to keep with the market trends as well,” Marks noted.

Market Reception and Future Plans

Since its introduction, the game has seen significant success in Italy, a market known for its regulated gaming environment. “Yes, so far in Italy, it’s gone very big,” Marks stated. “We’re surprised how quick it went, considering no one plays this in the regulated market.”

However, due to current UK regulations, the game is not yet available in the United Kingdom. Fun Fiesta is actively working to adapt the game to meet UK standards, with hopes of a future release.

Looking ahead, Fun Fiesta plans to diversify its game themes to cater to European audiences, moving beyond the current Asian-inspired designs. “Obviously, these ones are a bit Asian themed. So we’re going to create ones which are more European friendly,” Marks shared. “Because obviously, nowadays, a lot of people play like Bingo. They’re quick. So the spins, the slot machines are good. They’re traditional, but everybody wants something new.”

Engaging a New Generation of Players

The introduction of this fish shooting game signifies a shift in online gaming, aiming to attract players seeking more interactive and engaging experiences. By combining elements of skill and chance, Fun Fiesta is positioning itself at the forefront of this emerging trend in the European gaming market.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
