Deluxe Bingo Hastings reopened its doors Saturday, June 21, drawing hundreds of visitors for a celebration-packed day featuring live music, ribbon-cuttings, and two full bingo sessions including two lucky £1,000 jackpot winners.

The landmark venue has undergone a six-month transformation and is now fully back in action at its newly refurbished site on Pelham Place.

Deluxe will now operate five days a week, from Thursday to Monday, offering a lively schedule of bingo sessions. The arcade slots located on the ground floor are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Brass Band and Town Crier Herald Grand Opening of Bingo Destination

Deluxe’s grand opening included a public program of events and entertainment, with welcome drinks, live performances by the Beachy Head Brass Band, and appearances from costumed performers. A ceremonial town crier from Renaissance Faire UK welcomed the crowd, while other members of the troupe handed out flyers along the seafront.

Two official ribbon-cutting ceremonies marked the day. The first ribbon was cut by the mayor of Hastings, Councillor Becca Horn, alongside Helena Dollimore, MP for Hastings and Rye, who welcomed visitors to the venue and joined staff in celebrating the long-awaited return of the venue.

Deluxe Bingo Makes £10K Pledge for St. Michael’s Hospice

A highlight of the day was a check presentation ceremony in support of St. Michael’s Hospice, where Deluxe Bingo pledged to raise £10,000 for the charity over the next 12 months. A £1,000 donation was presented on the night to kick-start the fundraising effort.

Jeremy Godden, director of the Godden Gaming Organisation, said: “The grand opening has gone fantastically well. We've been very pleased with all the comments from our lovely customers, we've had two £1,000 jackpot winners who have gone home very happy.

The turnout’s been fantastic, and it’s wonderful to see this venue full of energy and excitement once again.”

Godden added: “Deluxe Hastings has always had a special place in the community. There’s so much history in this building, but it’s the people who bring it to life, our team, our customers, and all those who supported us in making this opening possible.

"This launch is just the beginning and we’re excited about everything still to come.”

Former Converted Cinema Will Draw in Bingo-Mad Punters

The building, which first opened in 1910 as a cinema, has been part of the Hastings seafront for over a century. It was converted into a bingo hall in the 1960s and has been a recognizable local fixture ever since. It recently underwent a complete interior overhaul to modernize the space while preserving its historic charm.

Chris Coull, bandleader of Beachy Brass, said: “What a great day it has been - the sun's out, people are coming past, lots of crowds, and hopefully some great music for you to open this fantastic bingo hall in!”

Speaking about the reopening, Ileana Danescu, general manager of Deluxe Bingo Hastings, said: “I feel very excited and so thrilled to welcome everybody back to the bingo club. I’m so happy to be here with you, and I’m looking forward to working with everyone.”

Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
