The Canton crowd erupted in celebration after landing the top prize in Castle Climber, a Rank Group-wide competition that saw Grosvenor and Mecca customers across the UK vying for a share of a massive £100,000 prize pool.
In a promotion that ran throughout June, Castle Climber invited players at participating venues to rack up points through games, events, and loyalty activities. With clubs across the UK competing, it was Canton that reached the summit.
Grosvenor Casino Canton emerged victorious, securing the grand prize for their club: a staggering £100,000.
"We're absolutely thrilled to announce that Canton was the winning club," said a spokesperson for Castle Bingo "What an achievement!"
The announcement sparked celebrations across the venue, with staff and members joining together to mark the occasion. Castle Bingo shared images of the jubilant Canton team online, showcasing the energy and camaraderie that propelled them to the top.
Lin, a long-time member and recent winner at Castle Bingo Canton who's been visiting the venue for nearly two decades described the atmosphere saying: "It’s fun, everyone is really friendly! The staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome."
For Lin, bingo is vital for relaxing and socialising after a long day at work. Her reaction to the £100,000 win?
"I was really shocked! When I saw Raychol, the manager, jumping up and down on the stage, I knew it was definitely 29 and it was us! It happened so quick, and the atmosphere was amazing!"
To keep the excitement going, Canton will host a special celebration event this Sunday, inviting members and the wider community to join in on the festivities.
Castle Climber was more than just a summer promotion. It was designed to boost engagement across venues while encouraging community participation. By tying club visits and participation in events directly to rewards, it created a competitive but inclusive atmosphere.
While other locations also received portions of the £100,000 pot based on their performance, Canton walked away with the biggest share. The club's top spot was the result of weeks of collective effort by members and staff alike.
"Thanks to everyone who came to all of our clubs to participate," Rank added. "We enjoyed seeing so many of you enjoying the excitement of this special event."
This win puts Canton on the map in a big way. For regulars and newcomers alike, it signals that Grosvenor Casino Canton is a hub of activity, energy, and reward.
Sunday's party promises to keep the celebration alive, with members invited to mingle with the winners and enjoy a day of fun. For Castle Bingo, it's another sign that local clubs can still pack a punch in a digital-first world.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
