Alexandre Tomic, the founder of Alea made waves at this year’s iGB Live London event with an oxygen bar on Alea’s stand at the show.

The move of the show from Amsterdam to London has doubled the footfall, according to some of the comments circulating on the enormous event floor. There were whispers of the London venue drawing more than 16,000 visitors by 9:30 a.m. on opening day. In contrast, Amsterdam saw 12,000 attendees over the course of its entire event. "Just look around yourself, it's full of people," Tomic told Casinos.com as he took in the oxygen infused with essential oils.

Simplifying Innovation with Accessible Tech

Unlike previous events in multi-level venues, iGB LIVE London featured a single-layer rectangular layout. “This layout is much clearer, you can see where everyone is,” Tomic said, noting how the new format improved navigation and user experience.

One of the main attractions at Tomic’s booth was a device blending aromatherapy with oxygen therapy. "You can have this at your bedside, really. It's like a cross between the infuser aromatherapy and the oxygen," he said. The unit, dubbed internally as an "oxygen bomb," delivers essential oils via oxygen streams that Tomic says can stimulate brain function and memory.

"It boosts your brain. Why? It's simple. Because it excites," Tomic said.

The oxygen bar was proving popular at the show. "This is a natural essential oil. It's very rare," he explained. “It makes you remember better.”

Visitors at the booth interacted with the sensory device which looked like something out of a mad scientist’s lab bubbling away but designed to explore sleep deprivation, brain activation, and scent-triggered memory. Tomic shared that these experiments help identify what "type of people we are" and test how our senses affect our mental performance. Tomic was hooked up to one of the containers and he looked very well as did those who dared to enquire as to what on Earth these containers were all about.

‘Is it safe’ we asked before slipping on a sort of hospital oxygen intake tube which was inserted in the nostrils and hooked over the ears. We then had a choice of aromatherapy labels, and we opted for something calming. It wasn’t long before it began to take effect, and we felt slightly lightheaded with the infusion of oxygen and oils in water.

An Oxygen/Aromatherapy Station on Every High Street

Tomic envisions a future where people can walk into a local store or wellness pod, take a 10-minute oxygen-infused break, and walk out recharged.

“Can you see the future of this? This should be in every city and town,” he said.

He hinted at how investing in this tech could change lives. When asked about the cost of bringing one of these experiences to a small village, Tomic explained that the oxygen unit is the main component, customisable with different gas blends. Crucially, he noted, no medical license is required, as the setup simply emits fresh air infused with oils.

"It's just oxygen with natural essential oil," he said. The essential oil blend is proprietary and designed to remain potent when used with their specific delivery method.

Why Health Should Matters to the Gambling Industry

As the line between wellness and entertainment continues to blur, innovations like Alea’s tap into a growing trend of biohacking and immersive sensory experiences. For casinos and hospitality venues seeking to offer more than just gaming, this kind of tech could become part of the next-gen VIP package.

The response at iGB London suggests the industry is ready to embrace wellness as a core component of the gaming experience.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
