Award Category: The Beige Award - Blandest Studio of the Year

Innovation? Creativity? A single original thought? Not here. This award is reserved for the software developers that have mastered the ancient art of doing absolutely nothing new. These are the titans of tedium, the overlords of overused mechanics, the connoisseurs of copy and paste but make it shinier.

You know the type. I know you do. Releasing the same game five different ways and calling it a ‘series’, slapping a reskin on last year's flop and acting like it's a hot new sequel. Their games are safe, soulless, and about as exciting as beige wallpaper in a dentist’s waiting room. But hey, someone has to keep the recycle bin in business.

So, which slot studio has truly earned the right to be called the Sultan of Sameness? The Champion of Churn? The Beigest of the Beige? Check out the nominees below to see who we think phoned it in hardest this year, then cast your vote for the developer most in need of a long, hard look in the mirror.

Let the mediocrity begin!

Our Inductees For The Beige Award - Blandest Studio of the Year

Our prestigious honour for the slot developer that’s turned creative bankruptcy into its own art form. These three studios have perfected the loop of lazy sequels, recycled mechanics, and enough déjà vu to induce mild déjà spew. Cast your vote for the beigest of this year’s bunch!

Nominee 1 – Pragmatic Play

Now how do I be pragmatic about Pragmatic Play? Lately it’s a content factory on autopilot. Sure, it’s licensed, reliable, and pumped out hits like Big Bass Bonanza and Gates of Olympus. Yet the endless reliance on Drop & Wins tournaments, ever‑expanding library, and stylistic templates scream quantity over true creative spark. It’s consistent, but at the cost of anything daring these days.

Nominee 2 – NetEnt

Once the proud creative engine behind Starburst, Gonzo’s Quest, and other classics that redefined online slots. But lately, it feels like they're banking on a retro reputation. Their portfolio boasts hundreds of aging titles, and while industry reviews still praise the graphics and legacy dropdown features like avalanches, there's a growing sense that the angle here is more nostalgic than forward‑thinking.

Nominee 3 – Games Global

It may scream mega-portfolio with its acquisition of Microgaming’s content, but apparently, that doesn’t translate to player delight. Recent reviews accuse the studio of slapping on flashy sound effects and bonus meters. Yet delivering fewer meaningful wins, suggesting they’d rather tease us than actually thrill us. In gameplay terms, it something of a case of all fur coat and no knickers.
