Nominee 1 – Pragmatic Play
Now how do I be pragmatic about Pragmatic Play? Lately it’s a content factory on autopilot. Sure, it’s licensed, reliable, and pumped out hits like Big Bass Bonanza and Gates of Olympus. Yet the endless reliance on Drop & Wins tournaments, ever‑expanding library, and stylistic templates scream quantity over true creative spark. It’s consistent, but at the cost of anything daring these days.
Nominee 2 – NetEnt
Once the proud creative engine behind Starburst, Gonzo’s Quest, and other classics that redefined online slots. But lately, it feels like they're banking on a retro reputation. Titles like Book of Ra and its many, many descendants have kept the lights on for years, but the sheer volume of interchangeable reskins makes it hard to remember which spin you're actually on. Reliable, sure. Reinventing anything, not so much.
Nominee 5 – IGT (Online Division)
IGT’s land-based cabinets still have a presence, but its online catalogue tells a different story. The library is broad, established and backed by decades of experience, yet 2026 has been noticeably quiet on the digital front, with few releases making a real impact. When the online output feels more like a side project than a continuation of its slot-floor legacy, even “beige” feels generous.
