Hollywood Casino has opened pre-registration for Alberta players, giving them an early look at one of the more established operators heading into the province's regulated iGaming launch on July 13, 2026.

Below is what Hollywood Casino is bringing to Alberta, how pre-registration works, and what to expect when the casino goes live.

Hollywood Casino Alberta: The Quick Facts

  • Operator: PENN Entertainment, operating under Score Media and Gaming Inc.
  • Game library: 700+ slot and table titles expected at launch

  • Minimum deposit: $10
  • Eligibility: 18 or older and physically located in Alberta
  • Regulator: Confirmed on the AGLC gaming registrations list
  • Sign-up: Pre-registration open now

What Pre-Registration Means

Pre-registration lets you create and verify a Hollywood Casino account before the market goes live. You can complete identity checks now, so your account is ready to play the moment real-money games switch on July 13.

There is no obligation to deposit early, and signing up now does not change the games on offer or the launch date itself.

Who Is Hollywood Casino?

Hollywood Casino is one of the online casino brands from PENN Entertainment, a company with one of the largest retail casino footprints in North America.

The brand operates in Ontario under the legal entity Score Media and Gaming Inc., the same entity behind theScore Bet, giving Hollywood Casino an existing, active presence in a regulated Canadian market ahead of its Alberta launch.

In its established US markets, spanning New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia, Hollywood Casino runs a library north of 700 slots and table games, plus a live dealer suite, with new content layered in regularly through PENN Game Studios, the company's in-house development team.

Alberta players can expect a similar setup at launch, built on that same proven foundation.

Inside Hollywood Casino

Hollywood Casino's biggest US markets carry more than 700 slot titles, and Alberta players should expect a similar range at launch.

The library spans classic three-reel games, modern video slots and progressive jackpots sourced from providers including IGT, NetEnt and Light & Wonder, alongside exclusive titles from PENN Game Studios such as Legendary Larry and Wuji Mines, games unavailable at competing operators.

For a full breakdown of the games, banking and account setup, see our Hollywood Casino Alberta review.

Live dealer content is powered by Evolution Gaming in Hollywood Casino's current markets, bringing real-time blackjack, roulette and baccarat tables to the app with professional dealers and HD streaming. This setup is expected to carry over to Alberta, giving players a real casino-floor feel from their phone or desktop.

One feature worth knowing about ahead of launch: Hollywood Casino's Casino Floor lobby is a dedicated section of the game library built to mirror the titles found on physical Hollywood Casino floors in the United States, a detail that may appeal to players who have visited one of the brand's US properties.

How to Pre-Register for Hollywood Casino Alberta

  1. Visit Hollywood Casino's sign-up page via the link above and select register.
  2. Enter your email address and create a password.
  3. Provide your personal details, including full legal name, date of birth and mobile number.
  4. Enter your home address and confirm Alberta residency.
  5. Accept the terms and conditions to complete registration.
  6. Upload a government-issued photo ID to verify your account ahead of your first withdrawal.

What Happens on July 13

Pre-registered players are expected to be among the first to reach Hollywood Casino's full line-up once the market opens, covering slots, table games and live dealer content.

Until then, your account is set up and verified but not active for real-money play. Because game libraries and payment options will differ across operators, it is worth comparing a few brands before launch day rather than committing to the first name you see across the new Alberta online casinos hitting the market.

Expected payment methods include Interac, debit card, online banking and bank transfer, and Apple Pay, though Alberta-specific processing times have not yet been confirmed.

Is It Legal to Play in Alberta?

Yes, from July 13. Alberta is becoming the second Canadian province after Ontario to license private online casino and sportsbook operators.

The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) registers operators, while the Alberta iGaming Corporation finalizes the commercial agreements that let brands go live, all under the iGaming Alberta Act.

To play, you must be 18 or older, one year younger than Ontario's threshold, and physically located in Alberta, with licensed sites using geolocation and identity verification alongside a mandatory link to a province-wide self-exclusion program. Hollywood Casino is already confirmed on the AGLC registrations list and is widely expected to be live on day one.

Responsible Gambling

Hollywood Casino offers deposit limits, session reminders and self-exclusion tools through account settings, and is expected to integrate with Alberta's centralized self-exclusion system at launch.
