BetMGM Streams Las Vegas Live Dealer Tables to Alberta Players

BetMGM Alberta has launched live dealer casino games streamed directly from Las Vegas for players in Alberta's regulated online casino market, the operator announced this week.

Players can now access real-time blackjack, roulette and baccarat hosted by professional dealers and broadcast from MGM Resorts International properties.

The games stream to computer, tablet or mobile devices.

What's on the Table

Beyond studio-hosted tables, Alberta online casino players can access “Dual Play” games broadcast directly from the floors of the Bellagio and MGM Grand, letting online users play the same hand or spin as guests on the casino floor.

Dual Play offerings include MGM Grand Live American Roulette, MGM Grand Live Baccarat and Bellagio Live Roulette.

The content is streamed through MGM Resorts' ongoing live casino partnership with software provider Playtech.

Following the Ontario Playbook

BetMGM previously launched live dealer casino games at Ontario online casinos in April 2022, when that province opened its regulated iGaming market.
 

“Live dealer content continues to be one of the fastest-evolving categories in iGaming,” said Rob Passerino, director of gaming at BetMGM.

Passerino said live dealer bridges the gap between online gaming and the casino floor, creating what he called a more immersive and engaging experience for players.

He added that the real-time interaction with professional dealers, and the ability to watch hands and spins unfold live, adds a sense of authenticity that resonates with players.

Alberta's online casino market opened in July, and BetMGM's move gives players one of the first Las Vegas-branded live dealer casino experiences in Canada available to them.

Passerino said the company hopes the Las Vegas feed generates similar traction to Ontario as Alberta's digital gaming landscape expands.

The live dealer launch is the latest addition to BetMGM's expanding Alberta library, following the recent debut of Blueprint Gaming's Game of Thrones slot, a Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences collaboration that ranked among the top performing new casino game launches in Ontario before making the jump north to Alberta.
