One of Canada's hottest new slots has arrived in Alberta.
Blueprint Gaming's eponymous Game of Thrones slot, based on the HBO series, is now available at BetMGM Alberta.
Developed in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, the fantasy slot, which features characters, emblems and sigils from the Seven Kingdoms, has quickly become one of the most played new casino games in all of Canada.
Having launched in Ontario back in April, the online slot has achieved near-instant popularity, with gaming advisory firm Eilers & Krejcik ranking it as the fifth best-performing new online casino game launch in Canada.
Game of Thrones is only available at BetMGM and is another example of the gambling giant partnering exclusively with gaming developers and entertainment brands in a bid to offer a unique product to players.
Other BetMGM-only titles based on popular TV shows include Friends: "The One With Multi Drop," Survivor Triple Challenge and Family Feud.
In July, BetMGM also released an Elvis Presley-branded slot with Malta-based developer Octoplay.
For Alberta players, Game of Thrones is one of the first big branded slots to land at a live operator since the Alberta online casino market opened in July.
"Game of Thrones is a cultural phenomenon," Oliver Bartlett, BetMGM's senior vice president of gaming, said when the partnership was announced.
"Blueprint Gaming delivers an immersive slot that goes beyond the spin of a reel. It puts players right in the heart of Westeros."
Game of Thrones' gameplay is built around Blueprint Gaming's Money Collect mechanic, which evolves as players progress.
It opens with a Night's Watch Collect feature before unlocking the sigils of the four most powerful houses in Westeros: Stark, Baratheon, Lannister and Targaryen.
Each house is a major part of the show's lore, with its own modifiers layered on to reward fans already familiar with the source material.
The result is a feature-led slot that leans on recognizable Westeros iconography to pull in players who grew up watching the series.
