The three racinos in Delaware pair a horse racing track with a full casino floor, giving you the option of live racing and casino games under one roof. These venues are located in northern Delaware near Wilmington, central Delaware in Dover, and southern Delaware around Harrington. All three properties offer slots, table games, and retail sportsbooks, though opening hours vary by property and day.
All of Delaware’s in-person casino action takes place at three state-licensed racinos. Each combines horse racing, slot, and table gaming, and additional amenities. All are overseen by the Delaware Lottery, ensuring consistent standards and fairness across the state.

Bally's Dover Casino Resort is Delaware’s largest full-service gambling property, located next to Dover Motor Speedway. Formerly Dover Downs, it was rebranded after Bally's Corporation acquired it in 2021.
The casino floor features over 2,200 slot machines and 30+ table games. It used to offer dedicated poker rooms, but these were closed in 2019. Guests who want to stay the night can enjoy a 500-room hotel that includes Toppers Spa & Salon, an indoor pool, and a fitness center. When hunger strikes, dining options include Sugar Factory, Jerry Longo's, and Macau Kitchen.
The Rollins Center hosts events and entertainment across 18,000 sq ft, and the retail sportsbook covers professional and college sports (excluding Delaware college teams). Harness racing runs from November through mid-April, with year-round simulcast wagering on offer.
Bally's Dover Casino is great for those looking for a full resort experience. It’s the only place in Delaware where you can spend a weekend with racing, gaming, and entertainment.
Delaware Park Casino & Racing sits just off I-95 in Stanton, minutes south of Wilmington and roughly 30 miles from Philadelphia.
The casino offers over 1,800 slot machines, 30+ table games, and a poker room with 25 tables. All of the action occurs across two levels, and there is even a 10,000 square foot outdoor slot patio with 250+ games. You can smoke here and enjoy trackside views.
It’s the state’s only venue for thoroughbred horse racing, running from May until October, with year-round simulcast wagering. Notable races held here include the Delaware Handicap and the Delaware Oaks.
Those who feel peckish have over 10 dining options, including Picciotti's Pizzeria and Rooney's. There’s also an on-site brewery to quench your thirst. If you fancy yourself as a bit of a golfer, you can play a round at the nearby White Clay Creek Country Club, but it’s not part of the casino.
There’s no hotel on-site, so Delaware Park Casino is ideal for day-trippers and racing enthusiasts.
Harrington Raceway & Casino is Delaware’s southernmost racino, located on the Delaware State Fairgrounds, about 25 minutes south of Dover and 45 minutes from the beaches. The property is owned and operated by the Delaware State Fair.
The casino has more than 1,800 slot games, 30+ table games including roulette, blackjack, and craps, and a 100-person poker room. There is no hotel for overnight stays, but there are RV and camping options nearby during non-fair weeks. Free live entertainment takes place every Friday and Saturday.
The property is a smoke-free zone indoors, offers sports betting, and has a Players Club loyalty program. There are diverse dining options to suit all tastes, and the property is open 24/7 on Fridays and Saturdays, and between 8 AM and 4 AM on Sundays to Thursdays.
Harrington Raceway Casino is the most locally rooted of the three racinos, so it offers that community feel often lacking with larger resorts.
Delaware's three-racino limit means that players willing to drive 30–60 minutes can significantly expand their options by crossing into Pennsylvania, Maryland, or New Jersey. The closest out-of-state options are worth knowing about, especially for northern Delaware residents.
The nearest Pennsylvania casinos are clustered just across the state line in the Philadelphia area. Harrah's Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack in Chester, PA, a harness racino on the Delaware River waterfront operated by Caesars Entertainment, sits roughly 20 miles north of Delaware Park, making it the single closest out-of-state casino for Wilmington-area visitors. It offers about 2,900 slot machines and a large table game floor. A few miles further into South Philadelphia, both Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia (2,100 slots, 150 table games, hotel) and Rivers Casino Philadelphia (1,547 slots, 72 table games, poker room) bring Pennsylvania's broader gaming menu within a straightforward I-95 drive. Pennsylvania allows a notably wider range of table games and has more operators to choose from than Delaware.
Hollywood Casino Perryville sits just off I-95 at Exit 93, around 50 miles from Wilmington. Operated by Penn Entertainment, it was Maryland's first casino when it opened in 2010 and offers a 75,000-square-foot floor with over 1,500 slots and table games: a solid option for southern Delaware visitors already traveling the I-95 corridor. For those in western or central Delaware near the Maryland border, the Live! The Casino & Hotel complex in Hanover (near BWI Airport) is a larger full-resort option, though it involves a roughly 90-minute drive from Dover.
Atlantic City, with its dozen full-scale resort casinos, sits about 75 miles northeast of Wilmington. It remains the biggest casino destination in the region and the natural choice for anyone looking for the resort-and-entertainment scale that Delaware's racinos do not replicate. For a dedicated gambling weekend, Atlantic City offers variety and ambition that no single Delaware property can match.
Beyond the three aforementioned casinos in Delaware, there are numerous other gambling opportunities available. We’ve briefly covered these below:
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Minimum age | You must be 21 to access casino floors, slots, table games, poker, and sports betting. Horse race wagering at the tracks and lottery products are available to those 18 and older. |
| ID | A government-issued photo ID is required at entry to all casino floors. Always carry it, even if you look older than you are. |
| Hours | Vary by property and day of the week. Bally's Dover Casino Resort and Delaware Park Casino & Racing are open 24/7 on weekends, while Harrington Raceway & Casino are open 24/7 on Fridays and Saturdays. The weekday schedule at Delaware casino resorts is not the same, so check each property's site before you visit. |
| Smoking | Delaware’s Clean Indoor Air Act, effective from November 2022, prohibits smoking inside casino floors. Delaware Park offers an outdoor smoking patio, Bally’s Dover provides designated smoking areas, while Harrington is fully smoke-free. |
| Complimentary alcohol | Delaware does not allow racinos to provide complimentary drinks on the gaming floor. |
| Sportsbooks | Retail sportsbooks operate at all three racinos, but Delaware college teams cannot be wagered on under state rules. |
