Esports Data Provider BETER Registers as Ontario Gaming Supplier

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario granted BETER a Gaming-Related Supplier Registration, the company said Sept. 14.

The registration lets BETER supply its live streaming, data and odds products to licensed sportsbooks in the Ontario online gambling market.

BETER's Canadian entry follows ten similar approvals the company holds across various U.S. states.

What BETER Actually Supplies

BETER produces live streams, real-time data and odds for its own portfolio of esports and niche sports events.

That portfolio includes ESportsBattle's eFootball, eBasketball, eHockey and eTennis leagues, along with the Setka Cup table tennis series and BSKT Cup basketball league.

The company says it covers more than 740,000 events a year and offers up to 50 betting markets per event.

BETER pairs that content with a dedicated integrity unit that works with bodies including the International Betting Integrity Association and the Esports Integrity Commission.

Alberta Could Be Next

BETER is also pursuing regulatory approval in Alberta, according to the company, which expects the province to become its second Canadian market.

Alberta opened its own regulated iGaming market to private operators on July 13, giving suppliers like BETER a second entry point into Canada within the same year.

A second approval would let BETER's fast-paced content reach both of Canada's regulated online sports betting markets before most competitors get there.

Executives Frame It as a Foothold

"Ontario is an important step in building BETER's North American business and a significant part of our global growth strategy."

BETER chief executive Gal Ehrlich said the company's exclusive content differentiates it from other suppliers, adding that Canada offers "significant potential" and Ontario gives BETER "a strong foundation from which to build a lasting presence across the country."

"Securing our Ontario registration is a significant milestone and reflects BETER's commitment to meeting the highest regulatory and compliance standards in every market we enter."

Chief legal officer Valeriia Tarchynska said the company's focus going forward is on sustainable growth and strong regulatory relationships as it expands across Canada.

With Ontario secured and an Alberta online gambling application in progress, BETER is positioning itself as an early supplier across both of Canada's open iGaming markets.
