Canadian gamblers are being urged to return to Las Vegas in a new initiative that will see three casinos treat Canadian dollars as American.
Under the At Par program, Circa Resort & Casino, The D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino are offering eligible Canadian visitors an exchange rate of US$1 to C$1, for both cash and card payments.
Open to all guests who can present a valid Canadian passport or government-issued ID, the promotion applies to room rates, on-site gaming and beverage purchases.
Players are not required to be staying at any of the hotels to avail of the offer.
"Canada has always been a part of my story, so I feel a deep connection to our Canadian visitors here in Las Vegas," said Derek Stevens, owner of Circa, the D and Golden Gate, who grew up in Grosse Pointe, Michigan close to the US/Canada border.
“At Par is about honouring that connection and removing unnecessary barriers, making sure Canadian visitors feel just as welcome downtown as they always have, without worrying about exchange rates, fine print or doing the math at the cage."
The At Par program comes at a time when exchange rates have made US travel significantly more expensive for Canadians, and as Las Vegas experiences a broader drop in foot traffic.
Historically, Canada has been Vegas’ largest international market, however, recent trends do not make for good reading for Vegas businesses.
According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), there was a roughly 24% decline in Canadian visitors to Vegas in January to November 2025 compared to the same time the year previous.
While overall, ‘Sin City’ saw a total drop in tourists of 7.4% for the same period.
It’s hoped the Canadian-exclusive offer, which effectively gives Canuck players a discount, could help draw them back to Vegas, during a time of recent diplomatic friction between Ottawa and Washington.
Looking at the finer details of the At Par program, Canadians will receive US$1 in value for every C$1 spent, regardless of daily exchange rates.
For gaming, Canadians can redeem up to C$500 in slots, treated at full US dollar value, by visiting Club One at Circa, the D or Golden Gate.
At current exchange rates, this means that slot players can essentially get C$690 worth of gambling for just C$500.
While Canadians staying at any one of the three participating hotels will receive the At Par rate at check-in, paying the same number shown in US dollars.
The At Par program also extends to three bars located in each hotel, where eligible customers can redeem At Par beverage pricing multiple times per visit.
These bars are Overhang Bar at Circa, Bar Prohibition! at the Golden Gate and the aptly-themed BarCanada at the D Las Vegas, launched by Stevens as an ode to Canadian sports and culture.
“My father went to the University of Toronto, and I was raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, where our home looked straight across the Detroit River toward Windsor. Growing up, we could literally hear Canada, especially during Blue Jays matchups, and that stayed with me.
I loved crossing over for places like Tunnel Bar-B-Q, Don Cherry's and Tim Hortons, and my lifelong love of hockey is part of why we created BarCanada downtown as a place to celebrate that culture year-round.”
The At Par program runs until 31st August 2026.
