Odds On What Katy Perry And Justin Trudeau Will Do Next

Katy Perry sparking romance rumours with Justin Trudeau probably wasn't on many 2025 bingo cards but here we are.

The pop megastar, 40, and the dark horse former Canadian Prime Minister, 53, lit social media up like a firework after they were spotted on a dinner date in Montreal at the end of July. According to the Daily Mail, the pair leaned over the table towards one another and were intimately chatting. 

Just days afterwards, Justin and his 16-year-old daughter, Ella-Grace, were spotted at Katy's Montreal gig, which was part of her Lifetimes Tour. Trudeau was spotted belting out Perry's top tunes, "Firework" and "Dark Horse," among others, at the show.

While neither Katy and Justin nor their respective camps have spoken out about the romance speculation, it hasn't been denied either. And they are thought to be attracted to one another.

A source told PEOPLE, "They are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes.

"She is traveling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer prime minister of Canada, but there is an attraction. They have a lot in common."

So, what is next for Perry and Trudeau?

Rumoured celebrity couples tend to do one of two things following the initial speculation: either confirm their relationship or let things fizzle out if they weren't together in the first place.

Perry and Trudeau's lack of a denial so far has fanned the flames among social media users that a relationship is on the cards.

The pair are 13/8 to go Instagram official as their next move, but it's just 7/4 they deny a relationship.

Katy has a busy August ahead on her Lifetimes Tour, but she doesn't have as many dates in September.

Could this enable her and Justin to spend some quality time together? They are 5/2 to go on holiday next, and Trudeau is known to enjoy the great outdoors, like her former flame.

Perry confirmed her split from her ex-fiancé and Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom in July, six years after they got engaged.

A joint statement on behalf of the former showbiz power couple, who have four-year-old daughter Daisy together, read: "Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.

"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is, and always will be, raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect."

One of the main headline-grabbing stories from the former couple's early relationship occurred in August 2016 when they were on holiday in Italy. 

The pair were photographed paddleboarding, and Bloom was completely nude, sparking headlines aplenty about his package. Could we see a repeat of this with Katy and Justin?

The former PM is known to love the great outdoors, writing on Facebook in 2019, "Nothing beats spending time in Canada’s great outdoors and every kid should get to experience it." 

But Katy and Justin are 4/1 to go naked paddleboarding together next. Never say never, as Justin's compatriot and namesake Justin Bieber once sang. However, it's a massive 10/1 they announce a shock marriage. 

Katy's Charitable Move

Bloom has, in a roundabout way, kind of reacted to Katy's potential new romance.

Following the Last Friday Night hitmaker's date with Trudeau, the Instagram page The Onion jokingly posted a fake picture of Orlando "spotted at dinner with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel."

Instead of ignoring the post, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor commented with three clapping hands emojis. Like Perry, Trudeau is thought to be single after he and his ex, Sophie Trudeau, who have three children together, went their separate ways in August 2023, following 18 years of marriage.

As well as their respective careers, Justin and Katy are also known for their charity work. Perry has supported LGBTQ+ rights and in 2013 she was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for her commitment to improving the lives of children.

While Justin has also been attached to charities, he came under fire in 2020.

After a federal contract to administer the $912 million Canada Student Service Grant program (CSSG) was awarded to WE Charity, it was later revealed Trudeau had personal ties to the organisation. However, in May 2021, Canada's ethics watchdog cleared him of any wrongdoing.

If Trudeau was keen to start afresh with some new charity work, then who better to work on a charitable project with than Perry? 

The pair are 2/1 to do so and 5/1 to form a new charity together.

A source recently told PEOPLE, "Both are idealists and still live in a world where they think they can make improvements, although it has gotten more difficult." 

Katy's Lifetime Focus

For now, Katy is no doubt focusing on her Lifetimes Tour.

The Wide Awake singer still has plenty of gigs left on the concert tour this year, until her final show on December 7th.

While she performed her final gig in Canada on Wednesday, Aug. 6, it's just 9/2 that she namechecks Justin on stage at an upcoming concert.

However, the Roar hitmaker could go one better and invite Justin onto the stage, a move that would no doubt earn him plenty of dad points from his teenage daughter.

It's 6/1 for Justin to appear on stage alongside Katy next but if things go well, they could have a lifetime together to make this happen.
