BETER Gains Alberta Supplier Registration

Esports and sports data provider BETER has secured a Services Supplier Registration from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission.

The registration is BETER's second in Canada, following its Gaming-Related Supplier Registration in Ontario in September.

The AGLC registration lets BETER supply licensed gambling sites in Alberta with live streaming, real-time data and odds for its own portfolio of esports and niche sports events.

That portfolio includes ESportsBattle's eFootball, eBasketball, eHockey and eTennis leagues, along with the Setka Cup table tennis series and BSKT Cup basketball league.

BETER says it covers more than 740,000 events a year, offering up to 50 betting markets per event and an average operator margin above 8%.

"Alberta represents another important milestone in BETER's broader North American expansion strategy and strengthens the company's presence in Canada," the company said in a statement.

BETER already holds 10 similar regulatory approvals across various U.S. states, and it continues to pursue additional approvals elsewhere.

With registrations now secured in both the Alberta and Ontario online gambling markets, the only two Canadian provinces with competitive private-sector iGaming markets, BETER's next step is signing on operators in each province to carry its feeds.
