One of Pragmatic Play's first games to be thrown up was titled Sweet Bonanza. Over the years, the software developer has rehashed the game several times to appeal to new audiences that luckily missed the awfulness of the first game.
Here we are, some ways down the line, when faced with Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice. Already, I am questioning the sanity behind this. Is it really that hard to develop an original slot game? For this review, I won’t even bother comparing it with the Sweet Bonanza real money slots that came before it, as that would be like reliving a nightmare. Instead, we will swiftly discuss the design, settings, and features and inform you that the free game is available to play if you wish. Then you and I can move on and forget this game ever existed.

The Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice is a follow-up to the game Sweet Bonanza 1000, which was released last year. The difference is all in the design, as the symbols turn from sweets to dice. The connection between dice and sweets is anyone’s guess, but really, with this game, it’s not worth the brain hemorrhage just trying to think about it.
The layout of Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice presents a five-row, five-reel slot with a Scatters Pay mechanism and a Tumble (Avalanche) feature. To the side of the game, you have three side features: the Buy Free Spins, Buy Super Free Spins, and the game’s Ante Bet option.

To begin Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice by Pragmatic Play, start by selecting the cost of your bet. Open the price list by selecting the – or + button. Here, you can choose your Total Bet or Coin Value and Bet values. Prices per spin range from $0.20 to $240. With the bet selected, you can start playing the game by pressing the spin button or opting to use the game’s autoplay feature.
To win from a spin, you must land eight or more of the same matching symbols anywhere on the slot’s rows and reels. This is the Scatter Pays mechanism, and the more symbols that land, the more you will win in return.
When you do win, this is when the game’s Tumble feature comes into play. All winning symbols suddenly disappear from the grid. As the symbols above them drop down to fill the space, new symbols enter into the game to complete the grid. From this action, new Scatter Pays can happen, winning you more money and repeating the Tumble process.
This is where the base game starts and ends. The routine of play is to repeat the process until you have cashed out and left or run out of money, and further betting is not viable. Beyond this, and like most Pragmatic Play slots, there are very few special features by which to get excited. Should the one special feature land though, it can help you to potentially win more money.
Here's a list of all the slot bonus features available in the Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice slot.
Unlock the bonus round when you land four or more bonus scatter symbols. In doing so, you will earn ten free bonus spins. If, during the round, you land three or more, you will earn five more free spins. In the bonus game, there is a Multiplier symbol. The power of this symbol comes in the varied sizes that your wins can multiply by. They range from 2x to 1,000x.
Like the slot games that came before in this series, the Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice is as appealing as a poo-baked pie. Alas, I have taken an oath with the Slot Writer’s Guild and will be putting my money into the game to provide an accurate accounting of the performance.
I loaded up the slot at the best slot site, set my betting to $1 per spin, and played fifty autoplay spins. The results were as follows…
The first spin brought two consecutive wins, resulting in a $1.20 return. Three more wins like this happened in the first ten spins. The hit rate was high, but the value of the wins was often less than that of the bet placed.
With zero special features embedded within the base game, there was really nothing exciting about this game, and the whole design concept wasn’t even used to its maximum potential. Surely, there should be a feature that after a non-win-spin, random dice roll on their spot to potentially produce an alternative symbol to form a win. Sadly, this game lacks ideas, and after fifty spins are played, I am 17.55 off breaking even.
The Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice slot by Pragmatic Play is a highly volatile slot game and presents an RTP score of 96.53%. The maximum payout is 25,000 times the betting price. This would make the maximum jackpot $6,000,000 if you were to bet the maximum $240 per spin.
The Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice slot takes the award for Most Pointless Game of the Year. Congratulations, Pragmatic Play! In all seriousness, this game should be highly avoided. Not only is it shocking value for money, but for any costs you put in, you will get very little back from it. Compare this game to all the other new slots released this year so far, and, well, it’s a case of picking blindly, and any one of them will be a far superior game than what Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice is.
Here are three random examples of games released around the same time by other software developers, and the quality and creative differences are glaringly obvious.
Big Stack Lumberjack by Print Studios
Goons Gone Wild by Games Global
Duck Hunters by Nolimit City
