Whilst Rusty & Curly reminds me of a red-headed girl I once dated, this review is, in fact, all about the slot game by Hacksaw Gaming. Rusty & Curly is going to be getting the full review experience in which I play the game, share my brutally honest opinion, and tell you about the software and gaming features.

The game design falls into the Wild West genre, and I have to say that it is incredibly well-animated. The backdrop to this game is a vast landscape with the slot perched center on a wooden board. To the left of the reels, you have the character Curly, and to the right of the reels, you have the character of Rusty. They both move and become more animated during play. 

The slot comes with a 4-row and 5-reel layout, which holds 14 paylines for players to win from. Above the slot, you will see 4 spaces carved out of the wood. These are counters that will hold the Free Spin symbols when they land during play.

When you load Rusty & Curly inside your online casino, you first want to set the price you’re going to be paying per spin. The minimum bet that can be placed is $0.10, but bet values run up to the maximum bet of $10 per spin. Once set, select the large spin button to begin spinning the reels. 

Winning is entirely down to luck, and to register for a win, you need 3 or more of the same symbols to land on any 1 of the 14 paylines. The top symbols to land include the Wild, the Sheriff badge, the horseshoe, a bottle, a cowboy hat, and the buffalo skull. The symbols that pay less are the J, Q, K, and A.

The more matching symbols that land, the more you get in return. The same goes for the increase in what you bet. The bigger the wager you place, the greater the return. That’s the basics of play. Everything is automated, so you only ever need to press the spin button unless you decide to play with the auto spins option.

As this is a slot, you can expect more than just reels spinning, as the game does indeed come with special features and bonus rounds. 

• Wild Posters: The feature can bring about respins and multipliers, sometimes both. These symbols remain on the grid as sticky wilds until the number of hearts on the poster is used up. The multipliers that can feature range from x2 to x10.
• Stick to the Plan Bonus: Land 3 Free Spin bonus symbols, and you will unlock the Stick to the Plan bonus round. In this bonus, you have increased chances of landing Wild Posters, which come with more respins and larger multiplier values that go up to x100. 
• Who Shot the Sheriff Bonus: If you manage to land 4 Bonus symbols, then you activate this special bonus round. With this, you are given 12 free bonus spins that are divided into 3 rounds. Each round consists of a Collect and Payout phase of spins. During the Collect phase of play, the Characters will Shoot at the slot to try and raise the size of the multipliers. They can come to a max value of x200. During the Payout phase of the play, the characters will be shooting at paying symbols. These, combined with the multiplier, determine your final bonus round payout. 
• Buy Bonus: As with many of the new Hacksaw Gaming slots, players can take advantage of the Buy Bonus feature that allows users to skip the main game and essentially pay their way directly into the bonus rounds or pay for enhanced features. 

The Wild West theme is one of my favorite genres because you rarely find slot games that are alike, unlike many other genres that have been overmilked. Rusty & Curly certainly looks the part, and though very simplified in the design, it does make you excited to see how the two characters will interact with the game. 

I loaded Rusty & Curly inside the best slot site and set my wager to $2 per spin. I opted to play 50 autospins so that I could type this experience whilst the game was simultaneously played.  During the first few spins, I managed to land 3 Free Spin symbols along the top row counter above the reels. This led to the Stick to the Plan bonus, which came with 6 free spins.

The bonus round played out with several respins added, which prolonged the bonus experience. I landed two big wins during the round. At the end of the bonus spins, I won $120.60, and I have to say, it was a pretty good return. 

Returning to the main game, I had 43 spins left to play. Playing these lasted ages because of the respins that can be won during the game. For me, this makes the game really good value for money. My 50 spins played felt more like 100. It took a little over 15 minutes for me to complete my 50 spins, and in the end, I finished with a balance greater than what I had started with. 

Rusty & Curly comes with an RTP rating that is 96.29%. The volatility is recorded in a medium setting. The total that can potentially be won is 10,000 times the value of your bet. Therefore, if you spin at a cost of $100, your jackpot is capped at $1,000,000!

Despite Rusty & Curly being a very simple game that doesn’t really offer too much, I liked it. The bonus round experience was brilliant. Medium volatility slots are my preference. The animation was good, and the respin feature just prolonged the experience, which just offered more opportunities. So yeah, I recommend you give Rusty & Curly a spin.
