The Greek legend and tale of Midas continues in Pragmatic Play’s sequel to The Hand of Midas. Hand of Midas 2 delivers a beautifully designed game with the appearance of being a winner. However, this is Pragmatic Play, and not everything they touch turns to gold. This is why I review games and tell you where they go good and where they go bad.
For this Hand of Midas 2 slot review, I play the game in my preferred casino for real money. I share the software programming, design, and rules of engagement. I also highlight the special features and bonus rounds made available.
This slot review also provides you access to the official free demo game, which can be played through any mobile device. If you want the real money version, then stick around for Casinos.com to guide you to the best casinos online.

The slot, well, that comes in a classic 3 x 5 layout. The paylines are 20. The design, well, that is what stands out loudest. The coloring is lush with gold, blues, and greens. The backdrop is some misty realm filled with treasure. The floor sprays embers along the bottom row of the slot. To the right of the reels is a fiery statue of Midas's hand, floating as it holds a multiplier counter.
In short, Hand of Midas 2 looks the part but plays like every other basic game online.
Pragmatic Play games are found everywhere online. You’ll have no problem getting this game, and when you find it, load it up and immediately set your bet level. Use the – and + tabs to set your bet. The range starts at $0.20 per spin and increases through values up to $240.
To begin playing, select the autoplay mode or the main spin button. To win, you need three or more of the same symbols to land on any one of the twenty paylines. The higher-prized symbols are formed by the characters of the slot, the treasure chest, the bowl of fruits, and the goblet of wine. The lower ones are made up of A, K, Q, J, and 10.
The game also comes with a Wild feature, which can also possess a multiplier value to boost wins. These values can be x2, x3, x5, and x10. More than one Wild means that the multipliers are added together for a bigger return.
Beyond the basics of play, which means repeatedly pressing spin until you either get bored, win big, or run out of money, there is a special bonus round you can access. Land three bonus scatter symbols, and you will unleash the game’s main Free Spins bonus round. Before the round plays, a mini-game launches, which will determine the number of spins you will play.
The round comes with x2, x3, x5, and x10 multipliers on the Wilds. These Wilds also remain in place when they land for the duration of your remaining spins. Additional free spins can be won when the scatter symbol lands, as well as the mini-game you played before the bonus is reactivated.
The game also comes with a slots buy bonus feature. For a cost that is 100 times the value of the bet you’re playing, you will have direct access to the Free Spins bonus round without having to play the base game.
Have I played The Hand of Midas? Yes. Did it make me eager to play this sequel, Hand of Midas 2? No. With this, I loaded the game, set my bet to only $1 per spin, and played 50 spins in the game’s autoplay mode.
In the first ten spins, I land two wins that equal $9, which is a good start. In spin 28, I land a x11 multiplier and win back $5. These Wild multipliers have been frequent, but no significant gain has been made to propel by balance beyond where it had begun. My last spin yielded a £12 win, with 2 Midas symbols and a Wild carrying a x2 multiplier. In the end, no cashout was possible.
It's a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to experience. Wins landed, but nothing to compensate for the cost of play.
The Hand of Midas 2 is programmed with a high volatility setting and an RTP rating of 96.07%. The maximum a player can win is 8,000 times their bet value. If you play spins at $240, then the greatest return will be $1,920,000!
Firstly, Hand of Midas 2 is as basic as gameplay goes. There is nothing to this game that hasn’t already been seen, done or played. The game isn’t even that great value for money, as there are slots out there that return more bang for your buck. For example, if you look at the paytable, you need to land at least three treasure chest symbols to get a return that is equal to your bet. That means there are seven other symbols in play that carry no value in their lowest payline. You would need to start landing five matching symbols for it to be of worth.
In short, Hand of Midas 2 looks the part but plays like every other basic game online.
