How does an online casino with a slick mobile app, massive selection of games and low minimum deposit sound? Because that’s what Royal Vegas is promising us from the off. But beneath the headlines, is everything as good as it sounds? I checked out Royal Vegas Casino to see if it was worth the hype. And now I’m here to report back. Let’s go!

Royal Vegas Casino Bonuses and Promotions

My verdict on casino bonuses at Royal Vegas is that they’re both solid and fair. I think I’d go as far as to class them among the more generous for online casinos in NZ.

The welcome package usually bags a bonus on the first three or more deposits. After that, there are daily promos offering free spins and more. Really, what more could you want from a casino?!

These ongoing promos change day to day, but I was able to see what was coming in the Promotions tab while I was logged in. They really are varied, which keeps things good and fresh. In my experience they range from deposit matches to free spins and even leaderboard competitions.

Welcome Bonus

Welcome bonuses at Royal Vegas tend to be geared towards rewarding deposits only. Though we’re not just talking your first deposit. I’ve seen welcome bonuses here reward up to four deposits with as much as $300 each as a matched bonus. Deposits as small as $5 will generally qualify, so this will suit both low and high rollers.

Loyalty Programme

When you join Royal Vegas Casino, you're automatically enrolled in the Loyalty Programme and start off at the Bronze tier. You earn loyalty points by playing games for real money, and can move up through the six loyalty tiers as you build more points.

Personally, I was in it for the bonuses. I knew I might not be around long enough to do much climbing of the ranks. So I was glad to be able to redeem my loyalty points for bonus credits. Every 5,000 points is worth 5 credits.

Bonus Withdrawal Difficulty

You know the feeling. High wagering requirements on an otherwise great casino welcome bonus do leave a sour taste in your mouth. But not here! Nope. Royal Vegas’ terms are perfectly acceptable in my opinion. The welcome offer and most promotions for returning customers come with 35x wagering. It’s not particularly low and not particularly high. Just about what you should expect from online casinos in NZ.

Game weighting applies to the wagering, meaning not all bets will contribute equally. Check out the full list before you start spinning to avoid a surprise. To give you an example, Games Global’s pokies contribute 100% towards wagering, but some table games are just 2%. So definitely check before you chip away at your bankroll.

Royal Vegas Game Selection

The layout of the Royal Vegas Casino site makes finding specific casino games relatively easy. It’s a good thing too, as there are over 1,000 real money games here. Pokies, table games, live casino, arcade, bingo games, and jackpots all have their own categories.

Table Games

Table games at Royal Vegas Casino have their own section, and they deserve it. As soon as I got to the lobby, I saw top games like Real Roulette and Atlantic City Blackjack. I favourited the ones I knew I would want to play later. That’s another great feature of the lobby here. Simply add games to your favourites by clicking on the heart icon on the game tile.

There are roughly 80 RNG table games to choose from. There might be some casinos with a bigger selection, but I think you’d struggle to do better for quality.

Pokies

Lots of pokie players (me included) like to go for a big win. And that’s why progressive jackpot pokies are so popular. They have the biggest prizes by far. Seeing games from the Mega Moolah range was an instant plus for me, but there are also WOWpot and tons of fixed jackpots at Royal Vegas Casino.

There are over 1,000 pokies in total in the lobby, and so frankly, you’re sure to find one you like. New games are added all the time, too. So look out for the red banner, as they’ll show you the hottest new pokies as soon as they land.

Live Casino Games

If live game shows are your thing, then you’re in luck. Royal Vegas has around 20 to choose from, with some of the fun games including Snakes and Ladders, Crazy Coin Flip and Majestic Wheelshow

Those three games come from different providers. Namely Pragmatic Play, Evolution Gaming, and OnAir. In fact, these same three studios are responsible for the entire live games section between them. There’s a healthy offering of around 80 live games in total, ranging from different types of live blackjack and roulette right through to sic bo, baccarat, and live dealer poker. The best I’ve ever seen? No. More than enough to stick around for? Sure.

Royal Vegas App and on Mobile

All I had to do to start spinning on the go was to search for Royal Vegas in the App Store. The iOS version of the app can be found easily, and I was able to download, log in, and start playing within a minute or so. Android users shouldn’t feel left out, since the Google Play store also stocks this casino’s app. I assume the experience is much the same, but as an iPhone owner, I can’t totally speak for it. It has a solid 3/5 score in both stores, a little below the top rated casino apps, but most of the negative reviews are fairly old. I’d have no problem giving it a higher rating personally.

Software Providers

The standard of software providers at an online casino speaks volumes. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. At Royal Vegas Casino, I was able to play games from some of the very best software providers in the casino universe. So draw your conclusions from there!

Evolution Gaming provides a chunk of the live dealer games, Pragmatic Play and their Drops and Wins pokies are here too, along with a good mix of up-and-coming studios like Just For The Win and Crazy Tooth Studio. All in all, a solid combo.

Payment Options

There’s a decent variety of payment providers available here. You’ll find the full list of payment methods you can use in the Bank section on site. The really good news is that each and every option will allow deposits from as little as $5. Believe me, low-deposit casinos like this are harder to find than you'd think!

Visa and Mastercard will always be popular, but e-wallets like Skrill, Neteller and Neosurf can be used too. If you use Android, you might find the Google Pay option handy, or you can deposit with Paysafecard. But you can’t use it to withdraw, obviously. That’s totally standard for that method.

The time it takes to get your withdrawals will depend on the method you use. I used a Visa card and the withdrawal landed in my account in two days. Royal Vegas mentions that card and bank transfer withdrawals can take three to seven working days, so this will vary depending on your bank. E-wallets are said to be quicker, taking 24 to 48 hours usually. No matter what payment method you use to withdraw, the minimum is $50. Which let’s face it – is steep! And something of a buzzkill about Royal Vegas.

How to Sign Up and Deposit

Most top online casinos make it easy to sign up, but Royal Vegas Casino really has mastered the artform here. The whole process takes less than two minutes. Rather than have page after page of details to provide, I did it all on one go. Here’s how you sign up:

  • Hit Play Now here at Casinos.com
  • Tap Signup on the holding page
  • Choose a username and password and give your email address, mobile number, name, date of birth and home address.
  • Confirm you’re old enough to have an account and accept the terms. Then complete.
  • Make your way to the cashier to deposit. Choose a method and enter your amount. Take advantage of that low minimum deposit if you’d like to test the site out first!

Customer Safety

Let’s get safety cleared up right away. Royal Vegas Casino is licensed under the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, with eGaming license number 155 C1. This alone tells you that it’s a safe casino to join up at. For any site to have a licence here, they commit to providing fair gaming experiences and meeting strict criteria regarding data security and customer safety. They don’t just hand these licenses to anybody. And licenses can soon be removed if a site doesn’t hold its standards high.

How to Prove Your Identity

You’ll need to provide Royal Vegas Casino with a copy of your photo ID and proof of address before you can make your first withdrawal. And you might also have to give proof that you own the payment method if asked. While this may seem like a pain, it’s something all legit online casinos are obliged to do. Thankfully, they have made the process as simple as possible.

All you need to do is take a picture of the required documents on your mobile and upload them within the account section. From here, accounts are usually fully verified with withdrawals activated within 24 hours.

Responsible Gambling

Online gambling is supposed to be fun, and responsible gambling is always encouraged. Any worthwhile casino platform should play its part in that encouragement. And that means having responsible gambling tools available.

However you like to stay in control, Royal Vegas Casino gives you options. From deposit limits and session reminders to self-exclusion and your full account history, there’s plenty here. A self-test and details for third party support are available too I was impressed, personally.

Customer Support

Let’s face it. Nobody likes having to contact customer support. The good news is that Royal Vegas has a loaded help section, where you might be able to find the info you’re looking for without so much as having to open a live chat session. Live chat, email and phone support are all options here, and all available 24/7. Live chat was my preferred option, and to be fair, I was connected with an agent immediately.

Royal Vegas Casino Review in Summary

There’s lots to like here for sure. Having the option of downloading a casino app will always score bonus points with me. Whether you’re an Android or iPhone user, you can download the Royal Vegas Casino app and get the full casino experience in the palm of your hand.

That’s not all. Signing up was quick and uploading my verification documents was as smooth an experience as I have had at any online casino. The loyalty programme is decent too, as it keeps the rewards coming long after the welcome bonus has been used.

But it wasn’t all good news. That $50 minimum withdrawal irks me even still. It’s so much higher than other NZ casinos and does crash the party somewhat. And lobby filtering could go a little harder than it does right now.

But to be honest, I can live with it. I reckon I’ll be coming back to Royal Vegas pretty soon.

What Surprised Me

Sorry for sounding boring but - the document uploader! It’s one of the easiest to use I have seen at an online casino. Account verification is smooth as butter here.

What I Like and Don't Like

Advantages
Quality Android and iOS apps available
Loyalty points every time you play for real money
Lobby packed with top games including a superb live casino
Disadvantages
Limited filtering options in the lobby
High minimum withdrawal amount of $50 across all methods

FAQs

What is the minimum deposit for Royal Vegas NZ?

The minimum deposit amount at Royal Vegas Casino is just $5. This is way lower than I’ve seen at other online casinos. It’s one of the things I liked most about the site when I tested it. I could make deposits at this low an amount with any available payment method.
