Oklahoma is one of the most remarkable casino destinations in the world. Home to more than 130 tribal casino properties operated by 33 federally recognised sovereign nations, the Sooner State punches far above its weight in the global gaming landscape - and is home to WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, widely recognised as the largest casino on the planet. Every casino in Oklahoma is tribally owned and operated, making this one of the most distinctive and culturally rich gaming experiences anywhere in the United States. Prefer to play from home? We also cover the best online casinos available to Oklahoma players, but on this page we're strictly talking real venues, real chips, and the real Oklahoma experience.

Land-Based Casinos In Oklahoma

Oklahoma's casino landscape is unlike any other state in the United States. All but one of the state's 130+ gaming properties are owned and operated by one of 33 federally recognised sovereign tribal nations, each with their own gaming commission, their own regulatory framework, and their own distinct character. Rather than attempting an exhaustive property-by-property listing - which would run to hundreds of entries and tell you relatively little - we have organised Oklahoma's casinos by tribal operator, with the five largest nations covered in detail and all remaining tribal operators listed together beneath them.

It's worth noting that the total number of operating properties in Oklahoma fluctuates regularly as smaller venues open, close, and rebrand. The 130+ figure reflects the landscape as of early 2026 but we recommend checking directly with individual tribal operators for the most current information on their property portfolios.

One property stands apart from the tribal structure entirely - Remington Park Racing & Casino in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma's only commercially operated gaming facility, is covered in the Featured Properties section.

Your First Visit to an Oklahoma Casino

Oklahoma's casino landscape is unlike any other state's. With over 140 tribal properties run by 33 sovereign nations, the scale is remarkable, but so is the variety. Whether you're heading to a mega-resort like WinStar or Choctaw Durant, or a mid-sized property closer to home, a few things are consistent enough to be worth knowing before your first visit.

Understanding Oklahoma's Casino Landscape

Every casino in Oklahoma is tribally owned, operated by one of 33 sovereign nations under individual compacts with the state. There are no commercial casinos and no single regulatory body overseeing the whole market, which means house rules, alcohol policies, and minimum age requirements can vary from one property to the next. Casino operators at most Oklahoma tribal properties require guests to be at least 18, but properties that serve alcohol on the gaming floor typically require 21. Check ahead if this matters to your group, and bring a valid government-issued photo ID regardless.

Arrival & Entry

Oklahoma's larger resorts are built for easy arrival with free parking, garages, and complimentary shuttles are standard at the flagship properties. At the biggest destinations, take a few minutes to orientate yourself before you start playing; some of these floors are genuinely vast. Also make sure you sign up for a players card early. It's free, and at many properties it unlocks perks including waived table game fees.

Slot Machines

With floors ranging from a few hundred machines at smaller properties to over 7,000 at WinStar, Oklahoma offers slot variety on a scale that rivals anywhere in the country. Denominations run from penny machines through to high-limit rooms. Most larger properties offer dedicated non-smoking gaming areas, including Choctaw Durant's Sky Casino which is entirely smoke-free. At the flagship resorts, Class III slots (true RNG-based machines) are standard, though Class II electronic bingo-based machines are more common at smaller properties around the state.

Did You Know?

Texas has no commercial casinos and no legal sports betting, making it the largest US state by population without a full gambling market. Its neighbour Oklahoma has been the primary beneficiary for decades. Texans are estimated to spend between $2.5 and $3 billion every year at Oklahoma casinos, with the Dallas-Fort Worth area alone — home to more than 6 million people — just 75 miles from WinStar World Casino in Thackerville. The Chickasaw Nation, which owns WinStar, has openly acknowledged that it actively works to keep gambling out of Texas, because Texans crossing the state line are one of the most significant drivers of revenue for Oklahoma tribal gaming.

Table Games

Oklahoma table games come with one quirk worth knowing: a small ante fee, typically around 50 cents per hand, collected because tribal compacts require non-house-banked games rather than traditional house-edge banking. Many properties waive this for players card holders. Game selection at the flagship resorts is broad with blackjack, baccarat, three-card poker, craps, and roulette are all widely available. Some properties use card-based mechanics for craps and roulette rather than traditional dice and wheel, though.

Poker Rooms

Oklahoma's poker scene is genuinely strong. WinStar runs one of the largest poker rooms in the country at 46 tables, and Choctaw Durant, River Spirit, Hard Rock Tulsa, and Riverwind all maintain active programs with cash games and regular tournaments. The Riverwind room has a particularly strong local reputation and has hosted World Series of Poker Circuit events. If poker is your game, Oklahoma is worth the trip.

Taking a Break

Oklahoma's flagship resorts have long moved beyond the buffet-and-hotdog era. Choctaw Durant has 20-plus restaurants, a cinema, bowling, and a 1,500-seat theater. WinStar has 17 dining options. Hard Rock Tulsa adds golf and music-focused entertainment. For overnight stays, WinStar and Choctaw Durant both offer 1,700 hotel rooms, with River Spirit (483), Hard Rock Tulsa (454), Downstream (374), and Grand Casino (262) all offering comfortable resort accommodation.

Sports Betting

Not currently available at Oklahoma tribal casinos. Multiple bills have been introduced in the Legislature but none had passed as of early 2026. Watch this space, but don't plan a trip around it yet.

Responsible Gaming

If gambling stops being fun and starts causing stress or financial strain, help is available. The Oklahoma Association on Problem Gambling and Gaming (OAPGG) runs a free, confidential helpline at 1-800-522-4700, available around the clock. Resources, self-assessment tools, and treatment referrals are also available at oapgg.org.

Oklahoma has a state-wide self-exclusion programme administered through OAPGG, covering participating tribal casinos across the state in a single application. Exclusion periods run from one to ten years and are irrevocable for the chosen term. Not all tribes currently participate, so check the current list at oapgg.org. Individual tribes also run their own property-level programmes, which can be applied for directly at the casino.
