Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa Review for June 2026

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa sits at 777 West Cherokee Street in Catoosa, Oklahoma, a small community on the eastern edge of the Tulsa metropolitan area, just off the path of historic Route 66. The address is deliberate.

Route 66, the old road connecting Chicago to Santa Monica that became one of the defining symbols of American road culture, runs directly past the property, and the resort leans into that context without apology. The guitars at the entrance, the memorabilia on the walls, the diner named after the highway. It all coheres around a sense of place that few casino resorts in the country manage as naturally.

The property is owned and operated by the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma through its Cherokee Nation Entertainment subsidiary, which began as a bingo hall in Roland, Oklahoma, in 1990 and has grown into an 11-casino operation generating over a billion dollars in cumulative revenue for the tribe. Hard Rock Tulsa is the flagship. Originally opened in August 2009 as a rebrand of the existing Cherokee Casino Resort, it has undergone repeated expansion and renovation since, including a recent exterior renovation and a new 135-foot double-sided video board sign at the entrance. The property now holds over 1,200 pieces of music memorabilia as part of Hard Rock International's global collection, which has grown to more than 83,000 pieces worldwide, including authentic artefacts from Oklahoma-connected artists, including Leon Russell, Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood, and the All-American Rejects.

Getting There

Hard Rock Tulsa sits at the intersection of Interstate 44 and 193rd East Avenue at Exit 240, approximately 15 miles east of downtown Tulsa. The property runs a complimentary 24-hour shuttle to Tulsa International Airport, making it one of the more airport-accessible casino resorts in Oklahoma. An area shuttle also runs for guests who want to explore beyond the property.

A parking garage provides covered parking directly connected to the resort. Free parking throughout, and complimentary valet is available for hotel guests.

Casino Review

The gaming floor covers 170,000 square feet and operates around the clock. Oklahoma tribal gaming compacts allow the full range of casino games without the restrictions that apply in California casinos, meaning live craps, roulette, and standard poker all run on the floor.

Over 1,200 pieces of Hard Rock memorabilia are displayed throughout the casino and hotel, giving the gaming environment a character that most casino floors lack. Walking this floor means passing authentic instruments, signed photographs, stage costumes, and handwritten lyrics from artists across seven decades of popular music. It's a genuine collection rather than a decorative gesture, and it changes the atmosphere of the space meaningfully. I spent more time looking at walls here than I have at any casino in the country.

A dedicated non-smoking area is available for players who prefer that environment. Free coffee, water, and soda stations are located throughout the floor, a practical courtesy that regular visitors consistently appreciate.

Table Games

Over 70 live table games run on the main floor covering: Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Baccarat, Pai Gow Poker, Three Card Poker, Texas Hold'em, and Seven-Card Stud.

A dedicated 14-table poker room runs non-smoking with daily tournaments, including the Oklahoma State Poker Championship, a signature event for the property. A players' card system rewards table game play alongside slot activity.

Slots

Over 2,600 slot machines run across the floor in a range of denominations. The machine selection is modern and well-maintained, with regular additions of new titles. The non-smoking section provides a dedicated environment for extended session play without tobacco exposure.

Rewards Club

The Hard Rock Players Club operates across four tiers, earning points on all slot and table game play, redeemable for free play, dining discounts, hotel stays, and exclusive event access. Members at higher tiers receive room upgrades, bonus point multipliers, and invitations to members-only events. Sign-up is free at the Players Club desk and requires a valid photo ID.

Did You Know?

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa is owned and operated by the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma through its Cherokee Nation Entertainment arm, making it one of the largest tribally owned Hard Rock properties in the world. The Cherokee Nation is the largest federally recognized tribe in the United States, with over 440,000 enrolled citizens. Cherokee Nation Entertainment began as a single bingo hall in Roland, Oklahoma, in 1990 and has grown into an 11-casino operation that has generated over a billion dollars in revenue for the Nation, funding health care, education, housing, and language preservation programs for Cherokee citizens across the country.

Hotel Review

Three hotel towers provide 454 rooms and suites carrying an AAA Four Diamond rating. The all-suite tower offers 100 non-smoking suites of 600 square feet each, making it the property's premium accommodation option and the one to book for guests who want consistent air quality alongside the larger floor plan.

All rooms carry the standard Hard Rock amenities: flat-screen televisions, iPod docking stations, complimentary WiFi, coffee makers, and in-room safes. The elevator system requires a room key to access guest floors, a security feature guests consistently mention positively. A 24-hour fitness center is available to all hotel guests at no charge.

The hotel houses Hard Rock's signature Fender guitar loan program, allowing guests to check out a Fender Stratocaster, Telecaster, or bass guitar and play in their room without complaints. Unfortunately, I’m not a musician, so I didn’t take advantage of it, but it’s a cool concept and the sort of specific, personality-driven amenity that distinguishes a Hard Rock property from a generic casino hotel.

Where to Eat

Eight dining venues cover the range from a 19th-floor fine dining steakhouse to a 24-hour Route 66 diner, with a rock and roll identity running through the food and beverage program.

Carvers on 19 is the dining centerpiece, a steakhouse on the top floor of the hotel tower with panoramic views that on a clear day extend across the Tulsa metropolitan area and out into the Oklahoma countryside. The elevation and the views give it a setting that works independently of the menu, which is the right kind of insurance for a fine dining room. I had dinner there on my most recent stay and the kitchen earns the setting. The HWY 66 Diner's retro identity is one of the stronger executions of the Route 66 theme, with American breakfast staples and diner classics in a room that earns its aesthetic rather than simply borrowing it.

The nightlife cluster of Riffs, Amp, and Track 5 gives the property three distinct evening options: live music bar, nightclub, and country dance hall. It's a more developed after-hours offering than most casino resorts manage under one roof, and Track 5 in particular has built a following in the Tulsa market that goes well beyond the casino audience.

Pool and Spa

Two outdoor pools operate from 8am to midnight, including a 100-foot main pool with a Baja shelf holding 20 in-pool lounge chairs and a connected 20-person hot tub. Cabanas are available for rental. A separate family pool provides an additional option. The pool complex is positioned well for the Oklahoma summer season when outdoor pool time is a genuine amenity rather than an afterthought.

A spa and salon on the property offers massage, facials, and body treatments. The 24-hour fitness center is complimentary for hotel guests.

Entertainment

Hard Rock Live is a 2,700-seat theater with 45,000 square feet of production space, state-of-the-art sound and lighting, and an amphitheater-style layout where sightlines from every seat are clear. The venue has hosted hundreds of sold-out performances from artists including KISS, Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton, Chris Stapleton, Stevie Wonder, Dolly Parton, and Steven Tyler. The programming breadth reflects the Tulsa market's musical heritage, a city that produced Leon Russell, J.J. Cale, and the Hanson brothers and has a deep relationship with both roots rock and country. I've caught two shows here, and both times the room felt like the right size for the act.

The Cherokee Art Gallery on the property showcases authentic Cherokee Nation art and provides a cultural dimension to the retail experience that distinguishes it from standard casino gift shop offerings. A Rock Shop licensed merchandise store handles the Hard Rock-branded retail side.

Golf

Cherokee Hills Golf Club sits directly adjacent to the casino floor, an 18-hole layout originally designed by Perry Maxwell and subsequently redesigned by Tripp Davis. The course plays through tree-lined fairways with significant elevation changes, natural rock outcroppings, and flowing creeks, with the redesign bringing the layout current while maintaining the natural character of the Oklahoma terrain. Four bars, a pro shop, and a full clubhouse serve the course. Lesson programs and club rentals are available.

Verdict

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa earns its AAA Four Diamond rating and its consistent positioning as the premier gaming destination in the Tulsa area through a combination of genuine advantages: a 170,000-square-foot gaming floor with live craps and roulette, three hotel towers with 454 rooms, a 2,700-seat entertainment venue with a strong booking history, an 18-hole golf course steps from the casino floor, and a Route 66 identity that gives the property a cultural character most us casinos cannot manufacture.

The music memorabilia collection is the element that sets the atmosphere apart from any comparable regional property. Over 1,200 authentic pieces distributed throughout the casino and hotel mean the environment rewards attention in a way that a standard casino floor does not. You can come here just to game, eat and see a show. But if you pay attention to the walls, you get something else entirely.
