Sword Stomp is a Max Win Gaming slot that put you in the middle of a Viking battle. Swords will be rattling throughout your spins as you aim for a glorious death and ascension to Valhalla. Slay your enemies across ten reels and plunder them to win up to 10,000x the bet.
Compared to other contemporary slot releases of its kind, Sword Stomp is much darker. You’ll see some familiar characters on the reels including the Allfather Odin, Hella, as well as Viking weaponry. They’re accompanied by stylized card royals that perfectly fit the narrative. The epic soundtrack and sword-stomping sound effects in the background add a much more immersive atmosphere.
The name itself comes from Odin’s sword stomp, which happens when a wild expands on the reels. He’ll stomp his sword and apply a multiplier that can nicely boost your wins. With the maximum winning potential set at 10,000x the bet, and wild multipliers in the mix, this is a Viking adventure you won’t forget soon. Read my Sword Stomp review below and see why it’s worth a try at the best online casinos.

Sword Stomp has a standard 5x3 layout. The reels are carved from stone, and wolves decorate the corners. They’re set against a pretty grim background, which shows a dim light and some trees, perfectly setting up the atmosphere. The visuals are pretty sharp and fit with the whole dark imagery.
In terms of symbols, you have characters that include Odin the Allfather, his ravens, wolves, and axes and swords. Some of the symbols, such as the wild, are animated. The layout is straightforward, with the controls beneath the reels. It’s easy to access everything and adjust your bet, or check the guide for the full paytable and special features.
While it adopts a bit of a darker visual style than others, the wild stomping multiplier feature can take your wins to the next level.
The action in Sword Stomp begins when you choose a bet. You can pick from 10c to $20 per spin, which is the usual betting range suitable for most players. Hit the spin button to start and get ready for the sword stomps. Per the math model, you need three or more identical symbols on one of the ten paylines for a win.
Wilds play their standard role, substituting for other symbols in winning combinations. Whenever they land, they also expand to fill a reel. That’s when Odin stomps his sword, which applies a multiplier between x2 and x100. The higher multipliers land rarely, but you can expect at least an x2 multiplier on each sword stomp.
That’s the only special feature of the Sword Stomp sword, but it can be a very generous one. Boosting the premiums that pay up to 10x the bet for 5 with multipliers may lead to stunning wins straight from the get-go. Additionally, the slot’s medium volatility means that you can expect varied wins. The wilds land frequently, too, meaning you can expect those boosts on a regular basis.
Landing three scatters on the reels awards ten free spins. The bonus game plays just like the base game, with the exception that all wilds are now locked in their position for the bonus round. They also randomly change multipliers on each spin. So, for example, you might land one that doubles your wins, after which it’ll change to a much higher multiplier.
If you don’t want to trigger the bonus round the traditional way, you can buy it for 100x the bet. This is the average price for a bonus buy feature, so it’s not more expensive than other real money slots.
Sword Stomp was a fun slot experience that brought some nice wins, thanks to the titular feature. For the purpose of my Sword Stomp slot review, I started at a bet of $1. The medium volatility kicked in right along, and I was able to land some decent x2 wild multiplier wins frequently. I didn’t manage to win big with premiums, but each x2 boost was welcomed.
After around 40 spins without the bonus, I decided to buy my way into the bonus round. It cost 100x, and I have to say that the bonus didn’t return the investment. I still won 82x, though, which is close. This means that the bonus can be rewarding thanks to the sticky expanding multiplier wilds of which you can land a few.
Sword Stomp has an RTP of 96% which is spot on for a medium volatile slot game. The maximum projected win is 10,000x the bet.
If you like Viking slots, you’ll like Sword Stomp, too. While it adopts a bit of a darker visual style than others, the wild stomping multiplier feature can take your wins to the next level. With multipliers up to 100x the bet, it’s no wonder how you can hit the higher wins. The bonus round may not do much more, but the stick wilds are more than enough to make up for the lack of other features.
Those looking for alternatives have plenty of slots to pick from. Some Viking recommendations include the livelier Vikings Go To Hell by Yggdrasil and Microgaming’s epic Thunderstruck saga.
