Greek Gods are always a popular source of inspiration for slot games, but oddly, Apollo, the Greek God of Archery, is often overlooked by developers. Well, Oros Gaming is set to put that right with the Magnificent Power Apollo slot. The game is one of a series of titles by the developer that uses the Magnificent Power feature, with Magnificent Power Zeus being the first. Does this slot do the mythical Apollo justice? Join me as I hit the spin and find out in this Magnificent Power Apollo slot review.

Magnificent Power Apollo has a really bright and striking design that definitely helps it stand out from other Greek-themed slots. The reels are positioned in the middle of a beautiful lake and are cast in bright gold, dazzling the player with their beauty. Apollo himself appears on the reels, drawing his bow and looking rather chiseled, while three beautiful women also make appearances as Scatters on the reels.
While the theme is far from original, Oros Gaming has done a good job of breathing some life into the idea.
Unfortunately, while the Magnificent Power Apollo slot looks great, the gameplay is needlessly convoluted.
Magnificent Power Apollo uses a 5x4 game grid with 30 paylines. Players can land winning combinations by hitting three or more matching symbols across one of these lines. There is also an additional reel, which remains locked until the Magnificent Power feature that will enhance the gameplay.
The spin icon is located to the right of the game grid, with the main control positioned underneath the reels. The game’s layout is virtually identical on a mobile device, so players should have few problems switching between the two.
The bulk of the action in the Magnificent Power Apollo slot is based around the titular bonus feature.
On any spin, Coins symbols can land on the reels. Apollo collects these if he lands on the reels simultaneously, and they are stored in a meter above the grid. When you reach 30 coins, Stacked Wilds are upgraded to Multiplier Wilds.
When 60 coins have been collected, the Free Spins bonus, the Free Spins Multiplier, and the sixth reel are unlocked. The Multiplier starts at 1x and increases by 0.5x every time a new coin is collected, up to a maximum of 5x.
The Free Spins bonus is then triggered by landing three or more Scatters. Random Wild Multipliers are available in the Free Spins round. You can also change high symbols into Wild symbols by collecting more special symbols in the round.
There is also the Replace Feature. This occurs after a losing spin with a Stacked Wild and guarantees a win. The Stacked Wild is held in place, and new symbols will be dropped down to help secure a win. Only high-paying symbols can land during this feature.
Unfortunately, there is no bonus buy option available in the Magnificent Power Apollo online slot game.
I would recommend testing the Magnificent Power Apollo slot for free using the demo we have provided before you play for real money. The reason for this is that the slot’s bonus structure is quite convoluted, and understanding exactly how all of the moving parts work is perhaps best done for free before you decide if you want to wager real money or not.
For this Magnificent Power Apollo slot, I took the game for 50 spins. I set my budget at $0.50 per spin and wasn’t particularly impressed with the results. While I was able to collect 30 coins and unlock the Multiplier Wilds after around 25 spins, it feels like a real effort working through spins, knowing you can not trigger a bonus until you have unlocked them.
Overall, I ended up slightly down, with a few big wins, with the Multiplier Wild helping pull my numbers up on the final few spins. However, this is certainly a game you are going to need to be patient with if you want to land any notable wins.
The Magnificent Power Apollo slot does not have a particularly exciting math model. The maximum win comes in at a low 1,952x the player’s total stake. While this is higher than other Magnificant Power slots, it is still not going to be enough to get players excited. The slot has been given a highly volatile rating and has an RTP of 96.20%.
Unfortunately, while the Magnificent Power Apollo slot looks great, the gameplay is needlessly convoluted. The Magnificent Power mechanic felt messy in the Magnificent Power Zeus slot, and it has not been improved upon since. Adding to this, the game offers a disappointing maximum win, which is really not likely to get players too excited. Outside of a nice design, the Magnificent Power Apollo slot has very little to offer online casino players.
Fortunately, there are so many excellent Greek-themed slots out there that players will be spoiled for choice. Among the best are Gates of Olympus 1000 from Pragmatic Play, Hades Gigablox from Yggdrasil, and Olympus Zeus Megaways from iSoftBet.
