Seriously, another giant monkey game? Where has the creativity gone, people? How about a killer king prawn or an angry worm? I don’t know, but I’m just amazed at how every other game brings déjà vu upon me. And on that shocking statement, welcome, one and all, to the slot review for Legacy of Kong by Spadegaming.
Now, I must confess that this is my Spadegaming cherry being taken, and so publicly, oh my. So far, not the kind of start they would have hoped for from my review, but here we are in that awkward getting-to-know-you phase.
During this review, I will be taking down all the particulars of the slot. How it plays and performs, what the settings are, and what features can help you and me win more money. The free slots demo is included in this review. Sign in to your free Casinos.com account to immediately begin playing this game.

The Legacy of Kong is set in some jungle, where the remains of past giant monkeys and dinosaurs just casually lay about. Oh, hang on, I get it. It’s like the movie Kong Island without it being the actual movie slot about Kong Island. I see, I see.
The layout of this game presents a colossal grid that comes with 200,704 ways to win. There are six reels and up to seven rows. Above which is an additional row of four spaces, which is how this game can generate one of the largest ways to win that I have ever seen.
The game also comes with a Tumble feature, also known as Avalanche or Cascading symbols.
For all its grandeur and its impressive bonus selection, Legacy of Kong is a bit of a banana skin on which you might slip up.
The game looks big and daunting but the basic rule of play is the same as all other slot machines online. Load up Legacy of Kong and immediately select your betting price. Open the Bet option or use the + or – buttons to go through the values. The lowest bet is $0.20, and the highest is $500. The pricing adjustment allows you to pick any amount between these values and even adjust the level setting between 1 and 5.
With your bet picked, you can start the game by pressing the Spin button. The symbols will spin on their reels and when they come to a stop, your placed bet will either lose [boo] or win [yay]. To seal a win, you need to have three to six matching symbols land across adjacent reels. If there is a gap, it’s not a win. The more you match, the greater the payout.
When a win is formed, the Tumble mechanism activates, and all symbols are taken off the grid, as new ones get added. This prolongs the game time and can lead to new wins being formed. Win again, and the Tumble happens again, and so on.
It may seem unbelievable, but that is all there is to playing the game. Win or lose, you repeat the betting process, spin the reels, await the outcome, and go again. Now, during the base game, you may land special symbols that activate features and bonuses. So, let us now take a look at these points of the game.
Legacy of Kong has plenty of bonus features. I'll review them all below:
The Legacy of Kong doesn’t make me salivate with anticipation, like when I see a Twinkie. Nevertheless, I approach the game with my bet set to $2 per spin, and I set the autoplay feature to fifty. Here’s the result of my experience…
Despite the many large symbols that appear, it takes seven spins to hit the first win. With it came four consecutive wins, but still only paid out $1.20. The same happens again ten spins later. The hit rate seems to be low, with an average of one win in 10. Sadly, this is common with games built with this setup, you collect loads of symbols, hit loads of Tumbles, and the returns are more often than not, pitiful. After thirty spins, so far none of the features have come close to striking.
And cue, the old switcheroo jinx, as suddenly a huge win of $43 comes in after making eight consecutive wins from a single spin. See, just a little faith people, it’s all it takes. I decide to quit the fifty spins early and cash out the $5 balance.
Legacy of Kong by Spadegaming is a medium volatility slot and has an RTP rating of 96.42%. The maximum you can win while playing this game is $2,000,000.
For all its grandeur and its impressive bonus selection, Legacy of Kong is a bit of a banana skin on which you might slip up. It doesn’t appear to be good value for money at all. Plus, it certainly doesn’t offer any base game worth in terms of returns or the frequency in which wins are obtained.
