The Hip Hop Panda slot by PG Soft has been on my radar for quite some time. Even though pandas are some of the most commonly used animals by video slot creators, this one has a little more personality with its hip-hop appearance.
Aside from the original theme and aesthetic, the Hip Hop Panda slot is distinguished by its Bonus Multiplier Reel, Bomb feature, and free spins game with a max multiplier of 50x.
Before thoroughly reviewing this game, I played it for real money – which you can do as well by visiting some of our recommended online casinos. You can also try the free demo version of Hip Hop Panda on this page and explore the game’s features risk-free. But first, let’s see what this video slot is all about.

Hip Hop Panda has a 3x3 layout, but it’s far more elaborate than the usual “retro” slots that have the same reel setup. The playful panda appears as a hip-hop star, dancing to a catchy beat throughout the gameplay.
Neon-lit royals J, Q, K, and A represent the low-value symbols, while cherries, watermelons, noodles, bells, and 7s yield bigger wins. The special symbols include a wild, a free spins scatter, and a bomb. The game has 30 winning lines.
A fun theme, simple gameplay, original bonus features, and a wide betting range are some of the biggest qualities of this slot, which is why I suggest that you at least try the Hip Hop Panda demo found on this page.
Like many other PG Soft slots primarily designed for mobile devices, this one also runs in portrait mode by default, with all the controls located in the lower part of the screen.
You have a big spin button in the middle, a bet button where you can set your stake between $0.90 and $270, and an autoplay menu where you can turn on the turbo spin mode and trigger between 10 and 1,000 automated plays.
Once you load the game, you’ll likely notice the multipliers atop the reels. These represent the special Bonus Multiplier Reel. Below each of the multipliers, you’ll find a random base game symbol (excluding special symbols), and if a winning combination includes one of the symbols from the Bonus Multiplier Reel, that combination will be multiplied by the corresponding value.
As the winning symbols roll in, the winning multipliers will be removed, while the remaining multipliers will cascade from left to right, up to a maximum of 30x.
If there are no winning combinations while one or more bomb symbols are present on the reels, those bombs will explode and destroy all the symbols surrounding them (except the wilds and scatters), making way for new cascading symbols.
One or more scatters will trigger the free spins game, with each awarding three free spins. The winning multipliers are higher during the round, cascading up to 50x, while each extra scatter symbol awards an additional three free spins.
Keep in mind that the Hip Hop Panda slot does not have a bonus buy option.
I quite enjoyed my time with Hip Hop Panda, even though it drained my bankroll a bit. I started with a modest $3 bet and was hovering around my initial balance for the first few minutes, occasionally getting the benefit of the bomb symbol and some of the smaller multipliers.
It wasn’t long before I unlocked the free spins round, yielding a solid $42 win. This gave me the confidence to increase my stake, but things took a turn for the worse from that point on, as I hit a long, dry spell and was soon looking at a loss. I never got close to reaching the 30x multiplier, and I also didn’t manage to get another free spins bonus to get back on my feet, so I decided to quit the game before depleting my balance any further.
Nevertheless, I really liked the game’s pace and theme and will surely give Hip Hop Panda another go in the future.
The stats are the only thing that might make the Hip Hop Panda slot less appealing to new players. The game has a below-average RTP of 95.75%, it’s categorized as a mid-level volatility slot, and it has a quite low maximum payout of 572x.
A fun theme, simple gameplay, original bonus features, and a wide betting range are some of the biggest qualities of this slot, which is why I suggest that you at least try the Hip Hop Panda demo found on this page. If you end up liking the game and wish to try it for real money like I did, there are a few online casinos that we recommend here at Casinos.com.
On the flip side, be vary of the game’s low RTP and low maximum payout. If you’re looking for a game with big max win potential, this one won’t cut it, with its biggest prize capped at 572x. Instead, you may want to try some other animal-themed titles like Fish n’ Fish by Red Tiger or Stallion Kingdom by Just For The Win, both of which offer a max prize of 5,000x and a higher return average.
