Playson has kept the design of the Diamonds Power: Hold and Win slot very simple. When we loaded the game, we were greeted with a retro-style slot design with a simple red background that is occasionally illuminated by a lightning bolt. 

A stack of diamonds sits on top of the grid, and the symbols are comprised of the standard card symbols, Bar symbols, some dice, and, of course, the lucky number 7, which serves as the game’s wild. 

We tested the Diamonds Power: Hold and Win slot on several mobile devices and found the experience to be positive on each of them. The game’s simple design means there are no significant changes when you switch to your phone or tablet. The Diamonds Power: Hold and Win mobile slot also works well on top online casino apps.

We found the gameplay of the Diamonds Power: Hold and Win online slot to be just as simple as its design. The slot uses a three-by-three grid, with just five paylines running across it. To secure a win, players need to land a combination of three across one of these paylines. 

Despite its retro theme, we were happy to find modern gameplay mechanics and controls. The slot has an autospin and a turbo-spin option in case you want to speed the gameplay up and let the game do some of the heavy lifting. 

The stake is adjusted using the +/- buttons underneath the grid. The minimum wager is $0.10, and the maximum is $100, a satisfying range that will please most players. 

The main bonus game is the titular Hold and Win feature. This triggers whenever you land a Bonus symbol on each reel. During the game, only Bonus and Super Bonus symbols are active. Players are granted three re-spins, and every time a symbol lands, it will stick to the reels and reset the spin count to three. 

All Bonus symbols will display a multiplier, with the maximum being 15x. However, Super Bonus symbols, which can only land on reel 2, will automatically collect other bonus symbols and accumulate their value. 

During the round, there is also the possibility to land one of four jackpot prizes. The Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand Jackpots are all won when their respective symbols land and are worth up to 1,000x your stake. 

There is also a Diamond Pile feature, which can be triggered on any spin and adds more Bonus symbols to the reels. 

The Diamonds Power: Hold and Win slot has an RTP of 95.66%, which, while a little low, did not disappoint us too much. The game has a maximum win of 1,057x your stake, which is through the Grand Jackpot. This is not a huge amount, but expectations have to be tempered a little with retro-style games. It has been given a medium volatility rating by Playson, which reflected our experiences when playing the game. 

While we wouldn’t say that Diamonds Power: Hold and Win by Playson is a bad slot, it is not really one that caught our attention or that is likely to live long in our memory. The retro design is nothing new, and the Hold and Win respin style bonus has become so popular in recent years that it no longer feels that exciting. We did like the addition of the Super Bonus, and this did help us stack up some good wins, but, in general, the wins on offer here are not too impressive. If you like retro slots, then you may find plenty to enjoy here. Otherwise, there are definitely better Hold and Win slots on the market.
