As the old saying goes, diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and as it turns out, slot developers are also quite fond of the precious minerals. Diamond theme slots are nothing new, and Pragmatic Play has gone back to the genre once again with the Diamond Cascade slot game. While the slot might look generic from the outside, it has a few surprises up its sleeve, including a unique gameplay mechanic called Color Tumble. Let’s find out if this new feature turns out to be a gem in this Diamond Cascade slot review.

The design of the Diamond Cascade slot is definitely one of its least interesting features. The game sticks with a fairly generic set-up, with the symbols on the reels featuring a selection of multi-colored diamonds and gems. The background appears to be some sort of diamond planet, with huge crystals growing out from the ground, one of which acts as a gameplay meter on the right-hand side of the screen. The soundtrack is equally as uninspiring and does little to help the game stand out.
Pragmatic Play develops all of its slots with mobile users in mind. The Diamond Cascade mobile slot can be enjoyed on mobile and desktop devices. The slot offers the same quirky visuals and enticing gameplay when it moves to different screen sizes and can also be played on a range of top online casino apps.
Diamond Cascade uses a slightly larger than standard 5x5 game grid, allowing players to land winning combinations across 50 paylines on each spin. Winning combinations are formed of three or more symbols landing on a payline across adjacent reels, starting on the leftmost reel. There is also a cluster-style system in play in the game which we will get to later in this Diamond Cascade review.
The slot’s control panel is found beneath the reels, and regular players of Pragmatic Play slots will know the layout well. The +/- buttons on either side of the spin button adjust the stake, with a minimum wager of $0.20 and a maximum of $300, giving this a huge betting range. The autoplay feature is located underneath the spin button.
As we have already mentioned in this Diamond Cascade review, the slot uses a new mechanic called the Color Tumble. Whenever a winning combination is formed, any clusters of symbols that share the same color background are also removed from the reel. Not only does this create a tumble effect, but it also collects the symbols in a meter at the side of the screen.
When 20 symbols have been collected, a random multiplier is applied to the reels. The meter and multiplier both reset at the end of the Color Tumble sequences. For every additional 20 symbols collected, the multiplier increases by one.
The other bonus in the game is the free spins round. Scatter symbols are also collected in Tumble sequences, so hitting or collecting three of them in one round will trigger 15 spins. During the free spins bonus, win multipliers are not reset. You can also trigger additional spins by landing three or more scatters in the round.
Depending on your location, you may also have the option of buying free spins for 100x your bet.
You’ll get to experience high-volatility gameplay while you receive an RTP of 96.21%. The maximum wagers reach $100 per spin, and the game can pay up to 10,000x. This can reach a total of $1,000,000 in real money rewards.
Pragmatic Play is one of the most active developers in the industry, and, as such, it likes to try out new things from time to time. The Color Tumble sequence used in the game creates a clever mix of cluster-pay mechanics and traditional paylines. The idea is certainly interesting, and it creates some really fun and engaging gameplay sequences. The game’s theme and design are a far cry from the innovation of the gameplay, but if you can overlook this, then Diamond Cascade is well worth taking for a spin at top casinos.
