If you’ve played Nolimit City slots, you know the developer is dedicated to designing the most controversial games and themes on the scene. That's why you should expect Blood & Shadow, judging by its title, to give you shivers thanks to its visuals. And that's precisely what you'll get in this horror-themed slot.
Based on a 5x4 grid and initially offering 1,024 ways to win, the slot comes packed with features. Since this is an extremely volatile slot presenting the occult side of things, you should expect theme-suited features such as Ritual Bar, Candle Spins, Baphomet Rite, Cursed Spins, xSplits, and the popular Nolimit Bonus options. If you are ready to discover what spooky things it can unearth, launch the Blood & Shadow demo, and let’s go for it!

You enter a dark room, presumably in a cursed castle, where you see candles on both sides of the reels, which are not lit, and sculls below them, giving you chills. The Bonus Buy button is on the left, but we’ll discuss the Nolimit Bonus options later.
Below this button, you’ll find the three-dot button. Inside, you’ll see the paytable. Five really scary-looking characters are the high-pays, giving you 3x to 8x the stake for the top combo, followed by lesser scary-looking characters with 0.9x to 1.5x the stake for a 5-of-a-kind combo. The low-pays are the occult-related symbols giving you 0.15x to 0.6x the stake. There’s also a Wild, which substitutes for all of these symbols. A Scatter is present, too, but it won’t play its usual role, as explained below.
Going down, below the three-dot button, you’ll see the Speaker, where you can turn the dark soundtrack on or off, and going right, you’ll see the $ button, where you can adjust your bet. Even though with the Bonus Buy options, you’ll get to place higher bets, the regular bets can be anywhere from $0.20 to $280. Going further right, in the bottom right corner of the screen, you’ll see the Play and Autoplay buttons, followed by the Quickspin button. The Bet and Balance displays are in the footer. Below the grid itself, though, you’ll see the mentioned Ritual Bar.
You can load and play Blood & Shadow real money slot on any desktop and mobile device, without the need to download it or any other online casino apps, for that matter. The slot is perfectly compatible with all new smartphones and tablets, be it those that use the Android operating system or iOS.
First, we need to talk about the Ritual Bar. This bar gets filled whenever you form winning combos with the mid and high-paying symbols, getting 1 and 2 points, respectively. Combos with Scatters add 10 points, though. There are 5 progression levels on the bar, and for each level-up, the bar resets, but the points are carried over to the next level. Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are reached with 20, 30, 40, 60, and 80 points, respectively. The lowest-paying symbol is removed from the reels with each level-up, and mid-pays are upgraded to high-paying symbols.
When you reach a new level, you also get 2 Candle Spins for each new level, up until you reach level 4. And since Sticky Wilds can land on all reel bars the first, during Candle Spins, they are at the bottom of the reels, and that’s where they become Sticky. When used in a winning combo, they are removed.
One more thing, you can purchase the Baphomet Rite feature, and progress the bar to level 3, where 6+ Candle Spins can be rewarded, and during this feature, 3 of the low and mid-paying symbols are replaced with 3 high-pays!
When you reach the final level on the bar, you get 6 Cursed Free Spins, and this is the star Blood & Shadow Bonus Round. Here, the xSplits enter the game. When an xSplit symbol lands, it can either split the reel it landed on and double all symbols it passes through or the row. On the same row, you can land more than 1, but on the same reel, only 1 xSplit.
The Ritual Bar is not available here, and the bonus round takes place on an expanded grid, 5x5 in size, offering 3,125 ways to win. During the bonus, only high-paying symbols land, and if you manage to land a Scatter, you get 1+ Free Spin. Finally, there are 4 Nolimit Bonus Buy options that offer different perks and different RTP percentages. The Lucky Draw Level 1-5 can be purchased for 55x the stake, coming with an RTP of 96.01%. Should you buy the Baphomet Rite for 66x the stake, you get a 96.18% RTP. Place the 166x the stake Lucky Draw Level 3-5 bet, and the RTP goes to 96.04%. Finally, you can purchase the Cursed Spins for 500x the stake, for which you'll get 10 Free Spins and a max RTP of 96.10%.
The normal RTP is 96.13%, but as you can see, it can go up to 96.18% if you buy the Baphomet Rite. The slot is extremely volatile, 10 out of 10 on Nolimit City's volatility scale, and it comes with a max payout of 6,666x the stake. The max payout, as you can see, is also theme-suited, hinting at the devil's number.
This means that, if you play it for the max bet of $280, you could scoop a really mind-blowing payout of $1,866,480! Thank you, devil’s number!
There’s no doubt that, like any slot by Nolimit City, Blood & Shadow is a superb slot, offering all the elements of a title worth a try. You get a massive payout potential, feature-packed gameplay, different Bonus Buy options, and above all, amazing artwork and spooky visuals presenting the theme to the point, with creepy characters, skulls, dripping candles, and esoteric markings. Therefore, make sure you put it on your must-try list and load it at the best online casinos the minute you can!
