Lady Gaga is just one step away from a historic career milestone after she recently won a Sports Emmy.
The "Poker Face" singer needs only a Tony Award to achieve EGOT status, which refers to stars who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award. Only 21 entertainers have managed it, including Sir Elton John, Audrey Hepburn, Viola Davis, Mel Brooks, and Jennifer Hudson.
In May, Gaga won a Sports Emmy for her Super Bowl performance of "Hold My Hand," which featured in the movie "Top Gun: Maverick" starring Tom Cruise. She previously won an Oscar for the song "Shallow" from the 2018 movie "A Star Is Born" and has 14 Grammy Awards.
Gaga has yet to land a Tony Award — but will it ever happen?
While she could earn a Tony Award as a performer, Gaga may not need to tread the boards several times a week to reach EGOT status.

The "Born This Way" hitmaker could achieve the honor as a songwriter or producer. Just this year, Gaga expressed interest in writing a Broadway musical.
During a Spotify Q&A with influencers, one suggested she should head to Broadway to pursue a Tony. She responded, "I would really love to write a musical. I think that would bring me so much joy.
"The first thing that needs to happen is I need to figure out what the important story is that I want to tell, with whoever I want to tell it with.
"While I appreciate the desire for me to win a Tony, I would want to put years of work into that."
However, Gaga played down the idea of starring on Broadway.
The "American Horror Story: Hotel" actress noted she would rather contribute behind the scenes than appear on stage eight times a week for months.
Gaga made similar comments four and a half years ago when she said she wanted to "create a musical" rather than perform in one. Speaking to Variety at the time, she said, "There are so many amazing musicals, but I love writing music.
"I love musical theatre, and I know a lot about musical theatre, and I know a lot about music. So I think I would really enjoy the process of creating a musical. I’ve thought about it for a really long time."
While she seems in no rush to pursue a Tony, Gaga has clearly considered Broadway and is willing to put in the effort. She is listed at 2-7 odds to win a Tony one day — but when might that be?
To be eligible for this year's Tony Awards, work must be completed between April 29, 2024, and April 27, 2025. Last year, the eligibility period for the 2023-24 Broadway season ran from April 28, 2023, to April 25, 2024.
So, there’s a slim chance Gaga could win a Tony next year if she excels in a production between now and late April 2025.

However, given her recent remarks about wanting to spend “years” working on a show, a Tony appears more likely to come later, if at all.
While Gaga no doubt has the talent to develop and write a show quickly, Broadway productions are often years in the making.
She is 1-1 to land a Tony Award and complete her EGOT by 2030 or later. But if she accelerates her efforts, she could release a Tony-worthy production a few years earlier.
Gaga is 2-1 to join EGOT winners like Elton John and Audrey Hepburn in 2029, and 5-2 to do so in 2028. However, she is a 5-1 outsider to earn a Tony as soon as next year.
More than 60 stars are just one win away from EGOT status, and one has a wicked good chance of achieving it by 2026.
Cynthia Erivo is among 25 stars who still need an Academy Award. While that’s easier said than done, she is the 11-8 favorite to become the 22nd entertainer to achieve EGOT status.

Erivo could win an Oscar as early as next year for her role as Elphaba Thropp in one of the highest grossing movies in 2025, "Wicked: For Good." She missed the chance to become the youngest EGOT winner after failing to land an Oscar for the 2024 movie "Wicked."
Hugh Jackman may also enter the Oscar conversation next year for his role in the upcoming musical drama "Song Sung Blue," which has already generated buzz ahead of its Christmas Day release. While the hype mainly surrounds co-star Kate Hudson, Jackman is 6-4 to complete EGOT status next by winning an Oscar.
Lin-Manuel Miranda 5/2 and Billy Porter 7/1 also need an Oscar to complete the set.
Several former Oscar winners still require a Grammy to join the EGOT club. Helen Mirren 7/4, Al Pacino 2/1, Vanessa Redgrave 7/2 and Geoffrey Rush 5/1 could compete in categories like Best Audiobook, Narration and Storytelling Recording.
Kate Winslet won a Grammy in 2000 in the Best Spoken Word Album for Children category for her narration of the audiobook "Listen to the Storyteller." Like Gaga, Winslet is now just a Tony Award away from EGOT status. The "Titanic" star is 3-1 to be the next to achieve it.
Other big names who still need a Tony include superstar singers Adele 9/2 and Cher 11/2, Beatles legends Sir Paul McCartney 6/1 and Sir Ringo Starr 10/1, and filmmaker Martin Scorsese 8/1.
