These three shortlisted nominees managed to butcher sound design so thoroughly, we were borderline impressed. Meet the auditory offenders below and then vote for the slot that made you reach for the mute button fastest.
Nominee 1 – Alien Invaders
Alien Invaders by Pragmatic Play might look like a cheeky retro trip through space, but the soundtrack is more UFO crash than cosmic cruise. The tinny background music feels like it’s coming from a dying walkie-talkie, while every win triggers a chaotic burst of garbled static and shrill bleeps. Oh, and the alien fella giggles at you. Constantly. Like a smug little gremlin mocking your life choices.
Nominee 2 – Lucky Clucks 3: Barnyard Blastoff
This title from Games Global sounds exactly like its name promises. Yes, unrelenting clucking. But it doesn’t stop there. Every flap, spin, and blink is aggressively soundtracked like a farmyard-themed fever dream, all set to a plodding farm-folk guitar jingle that could lull a scarecrow to sleep. It’s less charming country romp, more audio endurance test with poultry-induced PTSD. Proceed with caution.
Nominee 3 – Lucky Ducky
This slot from BGaming is a pastel-colored nightmare masquerading as something cheerful. Yes, you’re about to have all joy squeaked out of you. Its jolly background music loops every eight seconds like a broken music box, while every spin is punctuated by relentless bubble pops that could trigger a lifelong aversion to bathing. And then there's the duck squeak. Shrill, smug, and soul-crushing. It’s not just annoying; it’s offensive.
