Playjonny Casino really sets itself apart with its huge number of bonuses. When a casino has this many promotions on offer, at least some of them usually come with unfair terms. But here, that isn’t the case at all. With north of 20 bonuses at any one time here, there’s always one worth claiming.

Now I’ll talk you through my favorites that I found. Just remember promos change all the time, so don’t be surprised if the picture’s a little different by the time you land at Playjonny. 

Welcome Bonuses

Playjonny usually offers a multi-part welcome bonus that’s spread out over your first three deposits. You’ll generally need to make at least a C$20 deposit on the first part, and an increasingly large deposit on the second two parts. It’s normally split into a deposit match and free spins (with 40x and 35x wagering respectively – fairly reasonable). 

Reload Bonuses

Reload bonuses are really for high rollers only. Generally, the minimum qualifying deposit is $300, which rules out a fair few folks! However, if you can afford it, then these can be claimed once a week and come with the site standard 40x wagering. 

Tournaments

For me, tournaments are one of Playjonny’s strongest selling points. There were beginner tournaments with prizes starting at €2,500 (around C$4,000) and increasing to around €100,000 (around C$160,000). They work on selected slots only, but it’s generally a popular choice of game and one you’ll want to get involved with.

Newbie Map

As a cute way of welcoming you to the site, Playjonny offers a newcomers map. This gives you small prizes for completing the tasks that you’d probably have completed anyway (think verifying your email, making a deposit, claiming a bonus etc.) Groundbreaking? No. Added value? For sure. 

Loyalty Program

The loyalty program is a great thing to get involved in, offering prizes that range from a few free spins to large amounts of bonus cash. To climb up the ranks you need to score wagering points – which you get for, you guessed it – wagering. 

The higher you climb, the more you unlock. Percentages on cashback bonuses improve, reload percentages get higher and at the highest levels you even get your own dedicated VIP manager. 

It’s at the silver level that it gets a lot more exciting. And it’s actually super achievable to get to there, especially if you’re a keen slots fan. Just wager on slots, casino originals, live roulette, live blackjack, instant win – all of these count. Though titles outside these categories are excluded.

Bonus Withdrawal Difficulty

To see the bonus terms at Playjonny, you’ll need to click on the i then on more info and scroll down until you see the bonus terms section. For me, this feels a little sneaky, but actually, the terms aren’t bad! Below are the standard terms you’ll find:

• Wagering Requirement: This is 40x on most deposit bonuses and 35x on most spins.
• Sticky: All bonuses are sticky at Playjonny. This means you have to complete the wagering before you can withdraw your winnings or you forfeit the bonus. 
• Maximum bet: There’s a max bet of $5 when using any bonus on any game.
• Game Contributions: Slots always count 100%, live roulette and blackjack count 10%, and instant wins count 5%. It’s fairly unusual to see live games counting towards wagering, so that’s a pleasant surprise.

Playjonny Casino has a massive game catalogue. It varies depending on country, but in Canada it’s particularly large, with around 7,000 games in its ranks. The slots selection is understandably the largest, but it was great to see a live casino offering with more than 800 games too.

Table Games

RNG able games fans are the only group that aren’t spectacularly well catered for. There are some table games, but they don’t have their own section. Instead, type the name of the game you want to play into the search bar. There are a handful of poker and blackjack options, as well as a couple of video poker games. Not great, but not terrible either. 

Slots

There are more than 6,000 slots in the Playjonny catalogue, all really well categorized either by feature (like book slots, Megaways etc) or by theme (Halloween, Christmas, Asian etc). You can also search by provider, great if you have a favorite, or opt for A-Z. It’s a massive library so it’s really handy having so many options for narrowing it down. 

Live Casino Games

Playjonny has a really good selection of live casino games, mostly from the top tier of providers. Think Evolution and Pragmatic to name just two. There are around 800 titles in total, covering absolutely all bases but with a particularly strong selection of blackjack and roulette.

Playjonny Casino does have an Android app, which gets overwhelmingly positive reviews. However, the site is so good that the app might be surplus to requirements. Which will be good news for you iPhone users, who’ve been overlooked as far as an app goes.  Navigation is easy, games load quickly - and that’s no mean feat considering the size of the catalogue.

Playjonny Casino has a whole host of excellent providers, around 80 in total. Slots are super varied with grungy favourites like Hacksaw and NoLimit City, alongside sugar sweet slots studios like Pragmatic Play and Play’n Go. A decent mix overall.

The minimums sit at C$20 across the board for deposits and up at $50 for withdrawals. Which is a frustrating touch. I don’t like it when those figures don’t match. 

By bank transfer you could be waiting a while for your funds to come out. with a maximum of 24 hours for processing followed by up to a five day wait. Crypto can be with you within an hour, so that’s definitely the route to go here if you’re all about fast withdrawals. E-wallets seemed to be relatively speedy, too.

Customer Safety

Playjonny operates well, they pay out on time, have fair games, and provide solid customer support. But I do have some bad news, and it’s an important one. This platform doesn’t yet have a specific gambling license. While they are properly incorporated in Costa Rica, this is no substitute for a real remote gambling license. So I have to raise an amber flag here. 

How to Prove Your Identity

Head to your account settings and click to upload documents. Do this ASAP as it’ll avoid any delays to your withdrawals somewhere down the line. Playjonny offers round-the-clock support in the form of live chat and email. There’s no phone support, but the staff are quick to jump on your requests, so it really isn’t necessary. Playjonny Casino Review in Summary

Playjonny plays by so many of the rules, but its lack of a current license is a bit of a sticking point. The app gets great reviews, payouts are super speedy (via crypto), and the game catalogue is made up of entirely big, reputable game studios. On the face of it, this casino couldn’t be doing much more to comply and be trustworthy. So it would be great to see them complete the set and offer that full license soon. It’s the only sticking point that’s going to stick with me. 

What Surprised Me

It’s hard to wholeheartedly recommend a casino that doesn’t have a license, and it was a big surprise when I discovered that Playjonny doesn’t. This casino operates more fairly than plenty of Curacao-licensed sites, so I wouldn’t be shocked if they’re in the process of obtaining a proper remote license.
