Waves of Poseidon Slot Review

Welcome once again to another slot review that picks away at the question of how Pragmatic Play keeps getting away with releasing awful slot games. The subject of this latest bashing is the slot Waves of Poseidon. A Greek mythology slot that looks like it will deliver more than the average Pragmatic Play slot. For those of you feeling slightly optimistic about the possibility, I bring you fair warning. Whilst this game looks good, and it does, everything else is just typically Pragmatic Play.

And on that bombshell of an introduction, I welcome you all to Waves of Poseidon. With this slot review, you can learn as much as there is to possibly learn from the game’s features, setting, and performance. The free-to-play demo is provided, should you wish to inflict any pain upon yourself, if that’s your kink.

Waves of Poseidon? More like Ripples of Regret. It may look like it was sculpted by the gods themselves, but the gameplay sinks faster than Icarus with wet wings. Pragmatic Play promises an ocean, but delivers a puddle.

How to Play Waves of Poseidon Slot

More familiar Pragmatic Play traits are within the Waves of Poseidon setting. You have a high volatility setting along with a 96.55% RTP. The jackpot is 5,000x the betting price. These prices start from $0.20 and rise to $240 ($480 with Ante Bet). If you’re crazy enough to play $240 spins, then the maximum you can win is $1,200,000 ($2,400,000 if you play with Ante). Now, yes, this is a lot to win, but the cost of play is extortionately poor. Pragmatic Play does not and has never made value-for-money slot games.

The game plays on a 5x6 layout and is programmed with a Scatter Pays mechanism. To win, you only need to land eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid. Wins are met with a Tumble feature. This removes winning symbols and introduces new ones into the grid, to possibly generate new wins. With each Tumble triggered, the multiplier increases on the multiplier reel.

If you don’t win from a spin, then repeat the process of play, which is pressing the Spin button after you have set your bet amount. You can always change the value of your bet whenever you want, just before pressing Spin.

Waves of Poseidon Slot Verdict

The Waves of Poseidon looks the part, but everything about it is no new thing. The lack of features makes this a dull play. I feel like a broken record when I say that Pragmatic Play really needs to sort out their in-play dynamics. The design side of things is perfect; the gameplay, however, is dire to the point that it’s becoming laughable.

How Do You Rate This Game?

My Experience Playing Waves of Poseidon Slot for Real Money

Mighty Hercureels Somewhere between Mount Olympus and a midnight jackpot chase Demigod of Greek Mythology Slots

The Waves of Poseidon slot from Pragmatic Play does come with a wow-factor look. To the left of the game, you have all the side-bet features. The first reel of this game is a multiplier feature, which makes the game appear more enticing. You then have a beard-stroking Poseidon god standing to the right of the reels, looking a little cheesed off. Visually, bravo Pragmatic Play, yes, it’s good.

Now, to the predictable gameplay. See, when you come across a slot from this developer, you don’t actually get offered much. Features are limited, so what the developer does is increase the hit rate so you do land more wins, even though the returns are minimal.

Just look at the paytable for Waves of Poseidon, and you will see that even for the lower-paying symbols, the lowest five, A, K, Q, J, and 10, do not pay more than what you bet. Not until you start landing ten or more scatters on the K-symbol. What this means is the Waves of Poseidon slot is very poor value for money. No surprise there then.
