Reimagined? So, we had to go through Tomb of Gold and Tomb of Gold 2 for Play’n GO to be like, “Whoa, sorry, forget all that, those two don’t count, let’s start again, we’ve come up with a new idea.” Sorry, but this new idea could literally have just been Tomb of Gold 3.
And on that bombshell, I present to you the potentially fantastic reimagining of Tomb of Gold called Tomb of Gold Reimagined. Starring inside this slot review is our guest player Queen Cleoslotra. You also get the free demo game, and all the important information about why the first two games sucked so much that the developer had to go back and start over.
Plus, we can guide you to all the casinos supporting this slot, should you want to play the reimagined title for real money.

Queen Cleoslotra: “So, it’s not the first game, but it is the first game?”
Advisor: “Yes, my Queen. You see, Play’n GO decided to reimagine their original game and present it in this… updated form.”
Queen Cleoslotra: “So why is it not the third game? Should it not logically be the third game?”
Advisor: “A fair question, my Queen. Many in your council have debated this very point. Technically, it could be considered the third, but as it’s a reimagining, they’ve chosen to frame it differently.”
Queen Cleoslotra: “Fools! Very well, I shall play this game myself and decide what fate awaits Play’n GO if it fails to impress.”
Play’n GO software is often fairly predictable, but this game seems to have also come with a reimagining of how its mechanisms function. The Tomb of Gold Reimagined slot RTP is 96.24%, but it comes with a low volatility, yes, you read that right, low volatility. What this means is that the slot should produce a more frequent average of hits. Now, while you may experience more wins, the result may prove to return values that are less than the cost of your bet.
The price of a bet can range between $0.10 and $100. A single win can be as high as 10,000x your bet. That then makes the highest payout a jackpot of $1,000,000! To win, you must match two or more high-paying symbols across adjacent reels (three or more is lower-valued symbols). The game features a 6x4 layout with up to 4,096 ways to win. You can refer to the paytable for symbol values and other gaming information.
With the game’s new design and change of direction, you also get to experience a new set of features, some of which have been enhanced from the original game. Inside Tomb of Gold Reimagined, you will find Gem Scatter symbols, three Lock’n Gold Bonus Rounds, four Instant Jackpot prizes, and Multiplier Wilds. Sorry, Play’n GO doesn’t do Bonus Buys.
The slot is definitely worth playing, given its low volatility. The features are a bit bland, though saved by the instant prize jackpots. The game is certainly different from the first, and with a few more tweaks, it could have just been the third installment to the Tomb of Gold series. But here we are, and while you may discover some mild enjoyment, it still leaves something to be desired.
Well, if Play’n GO can randomly Egyptian slots, then let’s all imagine the first two games never happened and save ourselves a lot of bother doing comparisons. So, the game is possibly distinctly neater, different, and bolder, but then I wouldn’t know; nothing came before this.
I set my bets to play $2 spins, despite Egypt using a completely different currency. The first spin produces both a win and a collection of a Gem Scatter, which is collected by the Serpent’s Surge effigy above the reels. Over the next nine spins, this collection of gems continues several more times, but no further wins are gained.
On to the next round of ten spins, and it takes till the fifteenth spin to land my second win of the game, coming in at only $0.60. This is followed by $4.80 on the next spin. With the twentieth spin, I land a $6.80 win, which gives me more encouragement over the hit rate of this game, because at one point it was looking non-existent.
I decide to play one last round of 10 spins and increase the bet to $5 per spin. Immediately, the Serpent’s Surge bonus is unlocked. This is a respin bonus game with four spins. The round seems to be landing nothing and just amassing multipliers on the only two coins to have landed, the result of which adds to a $40.50 win. Hmm, with a balance now of $19.30, I decide to quit the game early and cash out.
Well, after that, you’d thought that Play’n GO would also have reimagined a more entertaining way to present the game.
