The only thing that looks vaguely familiar to other Hacksaw Gaming slots is the classic larger-than-normal grid. Everything else is oddly clean, polished, and normal; eww. With nothing much to talk about, because it is a visually dull fest, I crack on playing the game, with the bet per spin set to $2.
Well, the game starts off very well, with the first spins producing four consecutive wins that amount to $4.80. This is made possible because of the Cascade mechanic, which removes winning symbols and installs new ones, thus potentially creating entirely new wins.
However, it then takes ten more spins before a new win lands, and this was only $0.20. The game, up till now, is pretty dull. The music is very uneventful unless you win, and you just go through the motions of what is an old-style game.
After a few more spins and a few small wins, I decide to raise the stakes to $4 per spin. The first spin at this price produces something new: a multiplier upgrade, taking the global multiplier from 1x to 2x. The result is a $4 win. The frequency of wins does increase over the next ten spins, but the returns are less than the betting value.
I think it’s time to admit that Superstar Sevens isn’t quite the game I hoped for and leaves me questioning why this would even be made.
