Ladies and gentlemen, to enthrall you all into reading this plastic, unrecycled slot review, it would appear that a mysterious and foreboding funfair has arrived in town. Taking on the character of a dashing criminal investigator along with my uglier sidekick, Jack O’Potts, we make haste in our investigation of… [dramatic Dun♪ Dun♪ Duuun♪ music] … Red Rascal.
Reports from witnesses suggest that the evil fair was introduced to top online casinos overnight by Hacksaw Gaming. We’ve heard of their slot development antics before, as they’re no stranger when dabbling with demonic forces. Look at this rap sheet of free demo slots: The Count, SixSixSix, Evil Eyes, and Booze Bash. But enough of these semantic keywords, and on with the investigation, before innocent people head into the casinos unprepared for what they face.

My name is Detective Jack O’Potts, master of the macabre, and I am helping solve the case of the Red Rascal. What we know so far is that Hacksaw Gaming brought this game into several hundred online casinos late last night, and people aren’t sure if it’s safe to play. So, I’m going to get some answers, be it the hard way or the easy way.
Cue my montage of being a badass cop.
[Accounts] “Ah, yes, slight hiccup with that. Budget restrictions meant we couldn’t afford to edit a montage or provide your lunch.”
The Red Rascal slot RTP is 96.34% and comes with a medium to high volatility setting. This means that the slot can produce a run of wins, often similar to your bet value, but can also have bouts of no wins at all. It’s a mixed bag, so play it safe with your budget.
The cost to play this game ranges from $0.10 to $50, and it pays out 15,000x your bet. This brings the jackpot total to $750,000. To land an eligible win, you need to align three or more identical symbols along one or more paylines. This 5x5 grid holds 19 of them.
Now, despite not putting much effort into making their games wholly immersive with their concept, Hacksaw Gaming does know how to provide special in-play feature opportunities. When playing Red Rascal, you can activate features like the Rascal Respin, three different Coin prizes, colossal Wild symbols, three different Free Spins bonuses, and a Buy Bonus side bet option.
Investigation Conclusion:
Hacksaw Gaming is slowly becoming too predictable. I get that studios need an identity, but just do something unique once in a while. The idea behind this game was good until the point of making it. This slot, like many others, just doesn’t burst into life, yet the entire makeup is there for it to happen and be great. Alas, it goes through the motions, and unless you hit a bonus round, the gameplay quickly becomes a bit of a bore.

May 21st. Time is just after 1 am. Here on the scene, an ordinary online casino, not too busy at this hour, so few witnesses to see what happened. The game carries all the trademarks of being a Hacksaw Gaming slot. I mean, it even has their logo in the top right corner.
The Red Rascal, though more of a peculiar brown, seems to be the proprietor of this fairground. The grid is consistent with 99% of the developer's other video slots, so I have a good idea of how this game will play out. With the stake set to $2 per spin, I begin to question the integrity of this slot machine as I play.
The first win lands on the third spin, producing a $2.80 return off a double payline win. On the fifth spin, three Red Rascal symbols land. This activates the Rascal Respin feature, which turns current and new Red Rascal symbols into multipliers. The result is a $20.40 win. Two spins later, another win, this time $2. After playing the first ten spins, it’s fair to say the hit rate is fairly consistent. Given this, I increase my bet to play $4 spins.
After the second spin at this higher price, I land a $1.60 win, followed by another $1.60. Three spins later and two $1.60 land to award $3.20. Whilst the game seems to hit a flurry of wins from time to time, there’s not too much else happening to bring the game to life. The concept seems to start and end with the design alone.
After 20 spins, I’m starting to feel that whatever life I had left in me is draining out. I played a quickfire round of10 spins, and nothing came of this. So, I wrap up the investigation. It’s safe to play, but don’t get your hopes up too high. It’s a lot like other Hacksaw slots, so don’t expect anything new.
Case closed.
