The release of Moon Princess Origins by Play’n GO makes this the sixth game in the series. A series that I just so happen to like. Sure, it’s all a bit cutesy and very anime; plus, it has a trio of oddly attractive female characters that make me question one or two things about myself, but it’s all good.
I’ll be spending some quality one-on-one time again with the trio of power-wielding women, who in the 16th Century would have been burned at the stake and accused of witchcraft. However, these are different times, and in the world of anime, these princesses are free to rule the cosmos.
Does the sixth game come with the same energy as its predecessors? Well, there is only one way to find out. I’ll be reviewing all aspects of the game, from features to settings. The free slots demo is included, which you can access through a free Casinos.com account.

If you’ve not played this series before, then starting with Moon Princess Origins is no bad thing. But test the demo before diving into the real money game. Moon Princess Origins comes with a 96.29% RTP rating and a high volatility slot setting. In short, this game can be tricky to extract big wins from. However, should you do so, you’re likely to get more out of the game than if it were a lower volatility. For the jackpot, the maximum payout is 20,000 times the value of your bet.
You’ll begin the game by selecting the betting price, which is paid per spin. Prices start at $0.10 and rise to $100, making the maximum winnable payout $2,000,000. Once you have chosen the betting value you wish to play, press the spin button, and the symbols on the 5x5 layout will drop off the grid, as new ones fall into it.
To win, you must have identical symbols land in vertical and horizontal rows, otherwise known as a Cluster. Three or more make a win, and the more you have, the bigger the prize. All winning symbols are then removed, and any above them can drop to fill the space and potentially generate another winning row.
In the Moon Princess Origins slot by Play’n GO, there are features that help you win more money.
The Moon Princess Origins slot from Play’n GO is probably the weakest one of the series. This might be intentional as a means of limiting the game to merit the Origins title. It’s just lacking in that excitement, it’s too basic, and for me, the return on winnings is far too low. Having hit the free spins bonus game during my test run, it went on for about 3 minutes, win after win, different power after power, and in the end, I only won $14 whilst playing with $1.50 spins. It just seemed that the dynamics of the gaming and animation didn’t reflect the rewards. A lot of bells and whistles with little to show by the end of it.
A bit disappointed, but it’s done, and hopefully the series will bring something more refreshing next time to the online casino scene. Give the game a test run yourself with the free demo provided. Other games in this series include Moon Princess Power of Love, Moon Princess Trinity, and the original Moon Princess. All three are highly recommended. Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
