Giga Blast is a space-themed slot, alright. That much is obvious with just a glance at the reels. The setup and layout are easy to follow, with all the controls beneath the reels. It has 6 reels with 4 rows, which are occupied by all kinds of planets and shiny card royals. It’s quite obvious which symbols pay high and low sums of money.

In the background, you’ll see stars and far-away galaxies, so it’s all space-related. It looks OK with sharp and polished graphics, and the animations are a blast, too. All of that is combined with an orchestrated soundtrack and sound effects, which sound just like the real deal (probably).

Giga Blast is a fully mobile-optimized slot. I loved the fact that it runs perfectly from mobile browsers without the need to download any casino or slot apps. You can play it easily on your Android and iOS devices.

Before I started blasting my way through space, I checked out the bet range. It goes from 20c to $4 per spin, which should suit most players. For review reasons, I set the bet to $1 per spin and hit the Spin button. Winning combinations are formed from left to right for three or more matching symbols on one of the 50 paylines. Wilds can step in to complete or improve wins. The orange planet is by far the highest-paying symbol, delivering wins up to 6x the bet.

The Star Wilds pay 25 for the same combination. But it’s the wild modifiers that play the star role here. They fall under the Wild Blast feature, each of them kicking your wins up with vertical or horizontal explosions or a wild multiplier.

You can see a random modifier notification above each reel and on the left of each row. The modifier in question applies to wilds that land on the reels. Of course, several modifiers can kick things off, including multipliers up to x5. The horizontal and vertical explosions will turn adjacent symbols into additional star wilds. If explosions happen in a position previously occupied by a Star Wild with a multiplier, the multiplier goes up by +1.

The Wild Blast feature is not the only special in the Giga Blast slot game. There’s a free spins round, too, triggered by landing 3 or more scatters. You receive 10 free spins for that combination, but you can claim up to 25 for a maximum of 6 scatters. Whenever 3 or more appear, you get 5 extra spins.

The bonus works just like the base game, with the exception that the features come more often. If you don’t want to wait for the bonus round to occur, you have the option to buy it. That’s how I tried it during my review.
