Big Bass Raceday Repeat Slot

Big Bass Raceday Repeat Slot Review

I, and many others, believe that Pragmatic Play has completely milked the Big Bass series, but maybe the Big Bass Raceday Repeat slot has a trick up its sleeve. Could the solitary free spins feature offer something we’ve never seen before?

I could answer these questions now, but where would be the fun in that? If I have to suffer through another Pragmatic Play slot review, so do you! If you really don't want to keep me company over the next five minutes, Casinos.com members can play in free slots demo mode on this site.

Welcome back to the track, folks! Our fisherman is back for some more bets, and yes, it’s exactly what you’d expect if you’ve seen the last two Big Bass races. But don’t tune out just yet, as maybe this slot will pull a fast one that even the bookies didn’t see coming.

Pragmatic Play games have become the bane of my existence, but I powered through to give you the review you deserve. Stick around, and you’ll soon find out if this slot surprisingly sprints to glory or just trots lazily around the track.

Gameplay & Betting Mechanics

If you’ve played other Big Bass titles, you’ll see a familiar setup when you load this latest edition. The action, if you want to call it that, takes place on a 5x3 grid with 10 fixed paylines. The reels are set against an empty racecourse, with a yellow and red sky indicating it is dusk. It’s a bland background in all honesty, but it’s a nice change from the colorful underwater setting we’re accustomed to.

Spinning the reels can cost as little as $0.10 and $250 ($625 with Ante Bet), so casual slot lovers and high rollers are well catered for. The maximum jackpot is 5,000x your stake, which doesn’t really get me all giddy. The RTP of 96.51% is very solid, while the high volatility means that patience is a must.

The low-paying symbols are 10, J, Q, K, and A, paying 5x to 10x, which is pretty generous for the bottom of the paytable. Some binoculars, a pint, a lure box, and a bucket of champagne are the high-paying symbols, paying 50x, 50x, 100x, and 200x for five on a payline from left to right. I’ve got plenty of criticism for Pragmatic Play, but you can’t fault them for making sure the prizes are at least worth racing for.

Is It Worth Playing?

Big Bass Raceday Repeat doesn’t reinvent the wheel, which is one of my biggest issues with Pragmatic Play. If you’ve played other games in the series, especially Big Bass Reel Repeat, this slot will feel like a race you’ve already run. The river has been swapped for a racetrack, but the Wild Fisherman, Free Spins mechanics, and Money Symbols are identical.

While the Free Spins feature can still deliver excitement, the base game is very flat. The fact Money Values cannot be collected during regular spins is one of my biggest gripes, as it makes things feel lifeless.

If you enjoy the Big Bass slot series, you’ll probably have fun here too. But if you’re looking for innovation, this one feels less like a thrilling photo finish and more like another steady lap around the same old track.

What Happened When I Played for Cash?

In a land of decorated eggs, daisies, and chocolate bunnies, it sure feels like home to old Bunny Slotkin here.

Beyond the slot’s design, much of everything else seems to be consistent with other slots in this series. From the grid layout to the free spin bonuses.

I play the game with my bet set to $2 per spin. It takes a total of nine spins to produce a first win, which comes in at a depressing $0.40. Nothing comes of the Cascade mechanism, which triggers after a win. The eleventh spin proves to be a bit better, producing two consecutive wins and a payout of $1.20. Up till this point, the game is a touch boring, with nothing to make it immersive or entertaining. Pausing play is the only way to get Smokey the raccoon to do something different, like scratch his backside with the carrot. Ha, we’ve all been there, Smokey.

After 20 spins, I’ve yet to win more than the value of my bet. The in-play features just aren’t landing, and I’m failing to understand why this game was even made. I upped the stake of my spins to $5 and played a final run of ten. The average hit seems to be one in every eight spins. From the final ten spins, I produced a total return of $7.50. With a balance looking as crippled as road kill, I decided to quit the game and make better use of my free time.
