As Play’n GO’s Beasts series stampedes into the online casinos once more with the release of Beasts of Fire Inferno, esteemed animal slots expert David Slottenborough and I are foolish enough to stand in its way and ask the question: just how different is the game this time around?
It hasn’t even been a month since Triple Beasts of Fortune was released, and we’re now faced with more buffalo-related gameplay, which is starting to stink up the place. Armed with a spade and bucket, not only will we be clearing up the droppings left by Play’n GO, but we'll also face the game head-on to see if Beasts of Fire Inferno really is the hottest game in town.

The Buffalo, North America’s powerhouse turd cannon, which, in its mature years, can produce up to ten metric tons of manure a year. That’s 22,000 pounds of pure organic doo-doo, which, by comparison, is the weight of two adult African elephants or a fully occupied school bus. Just how much of that consists within Beasts of Fire Inferno is why we have traveled to the wintry landscape of the Book Cliffs in Utah to find out.
The Beasts of Fire Inferno slot RTP is 96.2%, though it can be lowered by casinos to as low as 84.2%. The volatility of this game is set at the highest level, which can present a greater ratio of losses over wins, but does have the capacity to randomly pay out a big win, which is the appeal of high volatility slots amongst players.
The grid itself is formed of five reels and four rows that offer up to 1,024 ways to win (3,125 during Free Spins). Landing matching symbols across adjacent reels can pay up to 50,000x your bet, with the cost of play ranging between $0.10 and $100 per spin. The max bet is also adjustable by casinos and can be lowered if required to meet gambling regulations in your region. If you can spin the max bet value, it can lead to a jackpot prize of $5,000,000! Larger than some online progressive jackpot slots.
Just like the Beasts of Fire slot and the Beasts of Fire Maximum slot, this game does come with its fair share of features and bonus games. These include the Power Boost, the Mystery Boost, the new Hold N’ Load feature, and Free Spins. However, like 99% of all Play’n GO slots, there is no Bonus Buy option.
The gaming dynamics don’t really progress from the other games in this series. The implementation of the new Hold N’ Load game does give it a bit of flavor, but this game shows no real progression, especially as it still lacks any real immersive quality. And given the concept, it needs to be a much bigger game with better visuals. For a sequel slot, I’m not too sure if it’s better than the last. What do you think? The free slots demo is available for you to play and critique in the comments section below.
Having endured what seems like an endless winter that goes back some six years since the first Beasts of Fire slot release, the buffalo return to where it all began. With bets set to $2 per spin, we step into the wilderness and commence gaming. Immediately, multiplier symbols are collected by the Inferno Core to the left of the reels, awaiting activation of the game’s bonus feature upon a random spin.
The first win, $6, lands on the second spin, followed by a $0.60 win and many more collected multipliers. The hit rate continues to be positive, with spin six landing a win of $17.20, which included the activation of the Inferno Storm, which transforms paying symbols into a higher-value Beast symbol.
After ten spins, the balance of the game remains healthy, and we play the next round with bets raised to $3.50 per spin. Instantly, this results in a win of $2.80. The frequency of winning hits rapidly diminishes, with nothing landing until the final tenth spin, which returns $1.05. So far, with twenty spins played, it’s difficult to gauge what Beasts of Fire Inferno is offering, and a lot of the old game qualities of Beasts of Fire seem to linger.
I continue to study the actions further by raising the stake to $5 per spin. The result of the next ten spins returns wins of 4.50, $1, and $1.50. Sadly, the action is all too repetitive and dull, so I returned to the cost of play at $2 per spin; the game seems more responsive, more multiplier symbols drop, and wins of $4, $0.80, $1.20, and $1.40 drop.
I feel, however, I’ve seen enough and read enough of the action to know that it will be some time before any feature is triggered or any larger win is paid out. We retreat from the slot and the cold, with the now all-too-familiar smell of buffalo crap lingering in the nostrils. I won’t be returning here in a hurry.
