From drunken elopements to high-roller romance, casinos have long been one of pop culture’s favourite places to say, “I do”. To celebrate our Lucky in Love campaign, revealed the most iconic casino weddings in film and TV history.
Even outside of TV and film, over-the-top weddings are still making headlines, most recently when a real couple tied the knot during Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show. The unexpected moment blended spectacle with genuine emotion, proving that bold, slightly chaotic wedding gestures still resonate just as strongly as their on-screen counterparts.
Here’s our full ranking:
No list of Las Vegas casino weddings would be complete without Ross and Rachel’s infamous Vegas ceremony. After a night of celebrating, the pair accidentally ties the knot, creating one of Friends’ most quoted and memorable storylines, and television’s most recognisable casino wedding moment.
Whilst Doug and Tracey’s wedding is the backbone of the story in the Hangover film, the reason we got one of the most successful comedy franchises of all time comes from a plethora of outrageous and unforgettable moments along the way – like when Stu lived out everyone's Vegas wedding fantasy and unknowingly got married in a Vegas chapel.
Animated absurdity at its finest, this episode delivers a sharp parody of the classic Vegas elopement. While visiting Las Vegas, Homer and Ned become heavily intoxicated and accidentally marry two cocktail waitresses, Amber and Ginger. The casino-side weddings underline just how deeply the Vegas marriage trope had embedded itself in pop culture — even reaching Springfield.
Long before modern rom-coms, Elvis Presley helped shape the on-screen mythology of Las Vegas. Viva Las Vegas combined music, romance and the city’s iconic backdrop, cementing its place in cinema history.
This romantic comedy leans fully into Vegas spectacle, with a wedding storyline that unfolds inside a casino setting. While exaggerated for effect, the film became a defining example of how Las Vegas has been used as a dramatic backdrop for love stories.
Set inside a fictional casino resort, the series featured several wedding storylines woven into its ensemble drama. The show used the setting as a backdrop for relationships and personal milestones, with casinos serving as part of the environment.
Across decades of film and television, casinos have been portrayed as places where risk, romance and luck collide. From spontaneous elopements to emotional turning points, these weddings tap into the same thrill that makes casino settings so compelling on screen.
Brand Manager and PR Expert at Casinos.com, Colm Phelan, said: “Casino weddings have become iconic because they capture everything people love about romance - excitement, unpredictability and the idea that a little bit of luck can change everything.
With Lucky in Love, we wanted to celebrate those moments on screen while giving one real couple the chance to live out their own Vegas love story.”
As part of the Lucky in Love campaign, Casinos.com is offering one lucky couple the chance to win a wedding in Las Vegas, inspired by the iconic ceremonies that have defined film and TV history. The prize includes the ultimate Vegas wedding experience, giving couples the opportunity to turn pop culture fantasy into reality.
